How to take selfies with a bald eagle
Stories of America.
The moment when you realize that the sibling legendaries' root names mean 'Uncle'(Tio) and 'Aunt'(Tia) . The spirit of awkward family gatherings reside within these two!
I miss you Farley....
Fun Story: My director kept telling me and my tenor sax buddy to play softer. No matter what we did, it wasn’t soft enough for him. So getting frustrated, I told my buddy “Dont play this time. Just fake it”
Our Band Director then informed us we sounded perfect.
To my readers: “p” means quiet, “pp” means really quiet. I’ve never seen “pppp” before haha.
On the contrast, “f” means loud, and “ffff” probably means so loud you go unconscious.
I had ffff in a piece once and my conductor told me to play as loudly as physically possible without falling off my chair…
Me and my trombone buddies had “ffff” and he sat next to me and played so hard that he fell out of his chair.
The lengths we go for music.
Okay yeah so I play the bass clarinet and the amount of air you have to move and the stiffness of the reed means it only has two settings and that is loud and louder, with an optional LOUDEST that includes a 50% probability of HORRIBLE CROAKING NOISE which is the bass equivalent of the ubiquitous clarinet shriek.
One day, when I was in concert band in high school, we got a new piece handed out for the first time, and there was a strange little commotion back in the tuba section — whispering, and pointing at something in the music, and swatting at each other’s hands all shhh don’t call attention to it. And although they did attract the attention of basically everyone else in the band, they managed to avoid being noticed by the band director, who gave us a few minutes to look over our parts and then said, “All right, let’s run through it up to section A.”
And here we are, cheerfully playing along, sounding reasonably competent — but everyone, when they have the attention to spare, is keeping an eye on the tuba players. They don’t come in for the first eight measures or so, and then when they do come in, what we see is:
[stifled giggling]
[reeeeeeally deep breath]
[COLOSSAL FOGHORN NOISE]
The entire band stops dead, in the cacophonous kind of way that a band stops when it hasn’t actually been cued to stop. The band director doesn’t even say anything, just looks straight back at the tubas and makes a helpless sort of why gesture.
In unison, the tuba players defend themselves: “THERE WERE FOUR F’S.”
FFFF is not really a rational dynamic marking for any instrument, but for the love of all that is holy why would you put it in a tuba part.
This is the best band post
Everyone else go home
Oh man, so I play trombone, and we got this piece called Florentiner Marsch by Julius Fucik, and we saw this
which is 8 fortes. We were shocked until,
that is 24 fortes who the fuck does that
Who does that?
This guy. Take a good look - that is the moustache of a man with nothing to lose.
Julius IdontgivaFucik
More like Julius Fuckit
Something you should know about that man: his most well-known composition is a little piece called “Entry of the Gladiators”. You know this piece. I know you do.
This is it.

Exceptionally true for bass winds...
Thinking back to last year, I think it’s time to restart my journey.
but now the question is, “do i record it and make it a walkthrough?”
Get yourself a capture card, duh.
It must be pretty awesome to be hired because "Your voice is cool".
Humble Beginnings.
I'm not special. I'm not of anything of importance. Just some guy. A face out in the crowd. Faceless, I like to put it. I say I don't follow the crowd, in reality, I just blend with it. Yeah, I guess I do my own thing. It's all in perspective.
I work my 9 to 5. Wake up, drink my coffee, put on my pants a single leg at a time. It does feel impossible to put pants on both legs at a time, but I still try. I leave my home, see the same faces, finish working then leave. Like I said, nothing special.
"Come on, man. You need to get out of your house. You're never gonna meet people cooped up all day." Lauren leaned over our cubicle wall. "Join us tonight. I promise you'll have a blast."
I shrugged her off and got back to my work.
"Yeah, Tim! Join us, It'll be fun!" Mike nearly shook me out of my chair with a combination of enthusiasm and sheer force.
I sighed, "Why? You guys know I don't drink. Why would I be any improvement to your escapades?"
"Improvement? Who said it had to be any better?" Mike hopped on my desk. "Dude, you're pathetic. You need to get out. At this point, we're not suggesting it, where demanding it."
On fridays, my coworkers always coerce me into joining them to the bar. I usually decline. My nights are usually spent wrapped in a deep game of League, or DoTA. "Fine! I'll go." I huffed. How bad could a couple of drunks be anyway?
Mike ruffled my hair, "Great. See you tonight." He left for his cubicle.
"Relax, Timmy. You'll have fun. Have a couple drinks, meet some nice ladies. Hell, I'll even help you. Besides, I heard you were lively in college."
Lively, indeed. In college I just signed up to the wrong frat house. I never planned on joining any Greek Life organizations, but it did mean free housing. I was in Beta-something or other. The name escapes me, nor do I wish to remember it. Bunch of jocks who wanted me to do their work or something.
To prove a point to my mom, Reblog if you would go to comic con if you could.
THERE WOULD BE NO HESITATION. I WOULD GO THERE IN MY UNDERWEAR IF I HAD TO
↑ THIS!! I AGREE WITH THIS SO HARD!!!
You fail to see how hard I would go.
Good creb...
I feel ya, Oak. I feel ya.
Looks like a great way to start the day...
