Working through some dnd character ideas by using them as character rendering practice.
This one is a pf2e witch with a phoenix for a familiar. She's a revenant whose got a vendetta against corrupted guardians that abuse their charge.
Hailing from the quaint town of Sherry, Morzanna never rose to a glorious lot in life. Born an only child, her parents were lost fighting alongside much of the town militia during the raids. For a time she lived alone while offering her services as an adequate seamstress. When the White Horn adventuring party moved into town she soon found herself hired as their live in seamstress. They’d protect the town from the raids and she’d keep their clothes repaired. It wasn’t long before she saw the ugly side of the local saviours. When they weren’t saving the town they’d drink excessively, torture woodland critters, brag about whatever generous gift they’d coaxed the townsfolk into offering. They were monsters, as bad as the creatures they’d been hired to slay.
Morzanna kept to herself. Found other places to be, or stayed in her room focused on her work. For the most part this kept her out of trouble. That all changed the night she woke to an intruder in her chambers. The raiders had broken into the house, and one stalked now in the dark at the foot of her bed. She lay frozen in panic until his eyes locked to hers. A blood curdling scream echoed through the halls. Soon after her adventurer stewards swarmed into the room, cutting off her assailants escape route. They were bruised from their own fights but they were still standing strong. Yet they did not come to her aid. She cried and begged for their assistance, they merely watched, curious to see what the cornered raider would do.
That’s the last thing Morzanna remembers of that night.
She awoke in the mud of a river bank. Cold, pale, alone. Her only company a brilliant golden bird. Like a falcon wreathed in flames.
