All those years and movies of AI being the big bad of the future and now we’re barreling through that reality at light speed

For me, it’s incredible jarring to see AI being used in place of human connection. And knowing AI is being taught from an unreliable pool of narrators.

And then also knowing, while we should wary of AI, the greedy capitalist nature of those in power is eventually going to lead to any AI programs people come to rely on suddenly being behind a paywall that increases in price over and over again.

Being informed is exhausting and terrifying and I admit I don’t even fully keep up with some things because I just can’t process it all in a way that doesn’t affect my already poor mental health

I don’t know if it’s just me but it seems like Anson Mount doesn’t put his heart into playing Pike anymore.

I used to be an incredibly picky eater and now I have a varied diet, strange thing is, there are few foods that I used to hate and now like.

I still hate most of the foods that I wouldn't eat as a kid. Almost all the variation in my diet came from trying foods I wasn't exposed to as a kid.

In fact, there are lots of foods I would force myself to eat as a kid that I don't bother with anymore because I don't like them

advice to parents of kids who are picky eaters is maybe try foods that are outside of your immediate cultural context

I think my girl Samantha Carter deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor.

Major/Lieutenant Colonel Sam being the brains WITH brawn (and a crack shot to boot) of SG-1, saving our Galaxy a dozen times over while getting the respect she deserves from her peers. Doesn't let something like a little crush on her Commanding Officer slow her down. Literally her ONLY drawback is the occasional bout of poor writing.

Goes through hell over and over without hesitation and always manages to pull her team out of the fire, kicking many asses along the way.

Truly one of the Sci-Fi Women of all time.

Being overstimulated is such a weird thing to explain to people. Like "hey sorry, I'm not mad at you and this is nobody's fault and I'm not blaming anyone for it happening, I am aware this is a part of regular everyday life but I am mentally crumbling because There Have Been Things Happening nonstop for 5 hours straight back to back with no breaks, and I really need to sit down in complete silence for like 15-25 minutes, after which I will be completely fine and can proceed as normal. But if I'm not allowed to have that, I will resort to violence."
