Chenford have literally been each others voice of reason when it mattered most. Lucy was trying to self sabotage on her guilt trip because of her feelings for Tim and the fact that they almost fucked but he wouldn’t let her because this was what SHE wanted! and if she had stayed home she would’ve regretted it later! he has always had her best interest at heart and it’s the same vice versa.

Chris failing to talk Lucy into going to uc school and then calling Tim is such a clown move because he knew that the ONLY person in the world who could get Lucy to change her mind was him, he just didn’t know why and that’s the real kicker.
