“I am hurt that you feel that way,” She replied though she laughed with him. “I believe you would have understood him more if you were Scottish.” Greer teased. “He spoke of Banshees and Brownies.” Her eyes glanced at stalls as they past though none really held her interest for very long. “He is. He enjoys the knights greatly and Eloise’s son is such a good playmate for him. I am sure when he returns to his parents once his mother is well that he will miss the court greatly.” She knew this was a time to tell her friend about her troubles that had come up. “Two of my dear friends from Scotland have met his acquaintance too.” The blonde spoke in a sort of code, since they were in public and she couldn’t outright say the father of her child and his sister had found out about Alastair. To everyone other than the few and Thomas being one of the few, Alastair was her cousin. It was also complicated. As long as Thomas had known her, he really knew her rage against James… Emotions were such fickle and complicated things.
He shook his head when she laughed, rolling his eyes. “You shouldn’t be,” He said, grinning over at her. He nodded a little at her explanation. “I know what he spoke about, I hardly understand why he was raving about them as if they were going to fly out of his ears to eat us all,” He said, shaking his head again. He was glad to hear that Alastair was enjoying his time at court, and that Greer was enjoying having her son nearby. He didn’t doubt that once Alastair returned home, she would do too well on her own. When she brought up Scotland, however, his smile fell and he lengthened his steps to be beside her again. “Did they? Were they...important acquaintances of yours?” He asked, his hands in his pockets as they walked, as if they’re conversation were as normal as the weather. “Did it go well?”
