"…You have an unbearably cheerful disposition for a dead person, do you know that?"
Mid-twirl, Amy stopped and looked up, smile still on her face as she gazed at the unfamiliar face before her. The full skirt swirling around her calves stilled...
"Aww, bugger, I was hoping I could cosy up to you and get you to help keep the sun out!" She let out a short but genuine laugh, her whole body dancing with it. "I take it that means you've never been to the colony then? Pretty bubbly group of us out there, might do some good for your heart." The memories swam down and through her, tugging at her chest and pulling at the edges of her smile until it all but vanished from her face. It wasn't that she wasn't proud of her task or unbelievably glad to be near Kier again, but life was simple and wonderful back there and, god, she missed the atmosphere.
"Amy, by the way. Amy Dyer, and yeah, I get the irony of my name before you start," she added with another softer, somewhat somber chuckle.
