Hey. It’s been a long, long time, like three-years-long-time, but people still seem to be following this blog.
I just want to thank everyone for their support during the short time we were active. I just looked at our inbox for the first time in a long time and I almost teared up seeing all of the kind messages. Thank you.
The first reason we stopped updating is a close relative of mine passed away. I wasn’t doing well mental health-wise. Since it’s been a few years so I’m ok with talking about it now...but losing someone you love never seems to get easier, huh?
The second reason we stopped being active is because my fellow admin, Rhett, suddenly passed away in an accident in 2014. She was my close friend - her death on top of my relative’s death did a number on me. Just looking at this blog and at Rhett’s posts made me upset for a long time. I didn’t have the willpower to update it, as pitiful of an excuse that is.
I like to think she’s in a better place where she can sit and play Pokémon all day, just as she always wanted to do. I hope she’s playing Ultra Sun or Moon there and is freaking out over Rowlet and Mimikyu, who I know she would’ve loved.
I really want to resume doing what I did here with theshinyteam. I think Rhett would want me to, too. Only, to make sure I still have time for me and my own life (I’m in university now, I never knew I could be piled with so much stuff simultaneously until I came here), on a smaller, more manageable scale. I hope to hear from all of you if that ever comes to fruition. :)
