"Whatever you believe, you become." — Michael Jackson
So i watched Michael (2026) last month on its opening week. Been a fan since i was 4 and it healed the inner child in me that misses him.
But I'm not here to criticise the film. I'm here because i just realized something crucial after years listening to his music, watching his performances, idolizing him. So, i was introduced of this magnificent figure by my mom who was a fan since she was young and she would tell me stories behind the stage, how Michael was a perfectionist, he calculated everything and everything has to be precise, just overall a naturally-born genius.
But after the movie, I realized he did not just calculate everything, he visualized it perfectly and did it exactly how he wanted it.
He manifested everything.
If you see in the movie, he would write down everything he wanted on his journal. That clicked me. The journey of him becoming the greatest, becoming the king of pop, all started with him visualising everything.
So i began searching, i wanted to see what else he wrote on his journal.
He would also write poems. We all know the trauma he had because of his father. The constant bullying of his looks, the physical abuse, he was robbed of a normal childhood all because of his father's greed and ambition. Now take a look at this poem he wrote.
This inspires me. As someone who grew up and struggled with her own appearance and lack of self-confidence, Michael Jackson has once again inspired me to believe in myself. He showed me the softest way to heal yourself from past trauma.
The poem itself is beautiful. And I was mesmerized by his faith.
"God is for me, who can be against me."
I also grew up a christian and even though i pray, i would struggle in spiritual warfare. Beaten up by society's standard of beauty, instead of embracing myself i planted dark seeds which bloomed into self hatred. I would talk bad about myself, avoid taking photos (because i hate how i'd look), i lost hope and blasted my anger toward God, why would He created me this way when He could create others beautiful.
Michael Jackson changed the way I think.
He once said:
"The most poweful thing in the world is the human mind."
And he was right.
Now i believe that the beginning of something great is from within. Love yourself first. Strengthen your soul with faith, and learn that you are already enough. The moment you embrace yourself completely, no force in this world can defeat you.
There are invisible forces that will try to tell you to believe the opposite and it is important that you don't listen to them. And Michael did that, he also wrote down destructive things that will destroy you and that you have to avoid it. This is a really good practice.
You are enough and you are able. You can believe and be anything that you want.
Believe. That's the keyword. Believe in you. Believe in God. Believe in what you have that you can create a different.
Dream big. Do everything as if you’ve already received what you’ve been praying for or aiming for.
I know that it sounds easier said than done, i write this to encourage myself and i hope in some ways if you see this, it can encourage you too. Now by writing this i'm not promising a perfect life, you will face challenges for sure but it's gonna be different now because you know how to handle it and how to win.
Jaafar Jackson, his nephew who played him in the film talked about Michael Jackson's manifestation and journaling: click here to watch.
MJ had a lot of great advices on believing yourself you can find plenty on the internet but i want you to listen to this one.
Sending out a major love ♡
