The Dance Of Truth and Deceit - A ShadowVanilla/PureShadow fanfic
But isolation with a whole library of knowledge? Heaven. That how it felt.
Buttermilk Cookie, as the Fount of Knowledge, had one job. One singular goal. To spread knowledge. To give all information freely, as needed. And he decided the best way to do that, was to make scrolls and books. The strategy worked. He enlightened Earthbread without needing to step in. However, he later realized that all his knowledge was things he just... Knew. No personal experiences. He wanted to change that.
Sunlight. Grass. A cool breeze. It was overstimulating at first. Then exciting. It had been years since he had seen outside, if ever. It felt nice. He went around. Met other cookies. Napped under trees. Studied in the field, instead of from books. It felt nicer than staying inside all the time.
He still enjoyed the comfort of the Spire. The books and Knowledge was his first home. But he slowly learned outside felt nice too. The sounds, sights smells were new. He took notes and wrote stories of things he observed, not just things he already knew. He found new practices, rituals, recipes, all types of things. And he was happy.
He started connecting with cookies too. At first they were wary of the the literal god in their midst. They gradually accepted him. Maybe not trust, but acceptance. Buttermilk Cookie never interacted with people unless he had to. Trying to form friendships was entirely new to him. But try he did.
He did this day after day. People started asking questions, and Buttermilk gave answers. They started trusting a little more. His personality suggested he would be a good leader. He rejected this idea though, saying it wasnt his job, or place. One cookie in particular, Healer Cookie, kept saying how great he would be at it. Offered to help. He finally caved under the immense flattery, but took it one step at a time. Started helping Healer Cookie with his job.
Healer Cookie, as his name suggested, was a healer. Did his best to heal the wounds and hearts of cookies in pain. Buttermilk Cookie would inquire about his methods often. Asking why the wounds took longer to set and heal than any other healer. Healer explained how important it was to not rush healing. It takes time, and sometimes, if it takes longer, it comes back stronger. Buttermilk enjoyed hearing Healer talk about his patients, and his methods. He seemed so kind.
Maybe this could be a cookie he could come to depend on.
(Author's note: this took about ten minutes to write. Idk how. So what do we think so farrrrr??? Also, this is only a part one! There will be 13 parts in all!)
