Stop misusing terms like Bestiality
I am so tired of people saying Beauty and The Beast or The Shape of Water are Bestiality.
1. Beauty and The Beast is not Bestiality, nor is it Stockholm Syndrome.
First, Bestiality requires a physical attraction to a creature with below human level intelligence. That means attraction to an animal like someone’s pet goat. Just because “The Beast” is called a beast doesn’t mean it’s bestiality. He has the mind of a human being and was formerly human. The fact that he has sapience means it’s not bestiality by the intended use of the term. Second, Beauty and the Beast actually reflects the theoretical lima syndrome instead of Stockholm Syndrome. Even the psychiatrist who coined the term has said Beauty and the Beast is not Stockholm Syndrome. Stockholm Syndrome is more accurately portrayed in Highlander: The Series in the episode Comes a Horseman and Revelation 6:8 with Cassandra’s backstory.
Real Stockholm Syndrome requires a loss of will and the prisoner not only becoming complacent but also wanting to keep their captor happy and placing the captor’s feelings before their own. There is a loss of free will and even a diminishing of personality. Belle never suffers any of these traumatic symptoms.
However Beast on the other hand grows. He becomes sympathetic to his prisoner and ultimately releases her. This reflects the theoretical direct opposite of Stockholm Syndrome. It is a condition called Lima Syndrome, which in this case can be called, “no longer a douche syndrome.”
On the other hand though, there are situations where Lima syndrome can go horribly wrong. For example when a certain psychiatrist (Doctor Quinzell) felt pity for her imprisoned patient (The Joker) and released him. Everyone calls this relationship stockholm syndrome but actually it began as a very, very unhealthy variant on Lima syndrome where the captor pitied and ultimately released the prisoner, but in this situation it was NOT the right thing to do.
2. The Shape of Water.
Again, this is not bestiality.
I’ve heard the obnoxious (and very ablest) argument that “even chimps can learn sign language.” Does that mean you think all mute people or deaf people who don’t speak are simple minded? Chimps can sometimes learn a rudimentary form of sign language and only after years of careful and constant training and positive reinforcement.
The creature in The Shape of Water not only learned ASL (American Sign language) much faster than most humans pick up on it, figuring out fast that her hand gestures were a form of language, but also the tie-in novelization is narrated by him.
it was not just a character’s assumption, Guillermo del Toro DID intend for The Creature to actually BE a river. God.
And before I see any stupid “But Gods can talk” there actually are cases were Gods don’t talk or can’t talk.
In Greek mythology, for example, there was Morpheus. Morpheus never spoke outside of the realm of dreams. Even Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman almost used this as part of the lore for his version of Morpheus AKA Dream of The Endless. Notice how in issue 1 you never see a point to Morpheus’ talk bubble leading toward his mouth. And there are no little circles either, making it difficult to tell if it’s dialogue or thought but apparently both. That was the original intention. That’s why none of his captors heard him while he was in the binding circle, because his method of communication was not physical. This aspect of the character was more or less dropped later and only occasionally hinted at, that his method of communication was at least partly psychic.
There are also Greek myths in which Hera punished other supernatural creature by rendering them unable to speak. Like poor Echo, who could only repeat what others said. or the nymphs who had their tongues removed by Hera so they couldn’t gossip about Zeus’s affairs.
The Creature in The Shape of Water IS a river God, can narrate a tie-in novel, and learned sign language faster than most humans. This is above normal sapience (human level intellect).
So no, not “fish f–king” and no, not bestiality.
Please, guys. stop misusing the term. Save it for some creep who thinks your neighbor’s dog looks particularly hot today.
If you’re that insecure or even jealous that you have to call attraction to fictional entities that have human-level intellects “Bestiality” than you probably should re-evulate what you’re not considered attractive in their place.
What’s so bad about periods
At first I was like “no don’t reblog it’ll weird people out” then I was like “oh right that’s the point”
You also lose iron during menstruation. I actually passed out because of that yesterday.
Also shout out to all trans, gender-fluid or genderless people with menstruation out there! Periods don’t make you female. Only you define your gender!
Actually there is a good chance that is not the lack of iron making you pass out but instead drops on blood pressure!
I found this out recently. I’ve always been told my fainting/dizzy spells during my period were iron related but I did some research and because I have a history of low blood pressure and fainting related to it (in times of a restricted diet and pregnancy) it’s far more likely that’s the reason I’m fainting
A lot of other AFAB people report the same
I ended up in the hospital due to severe blood loss and needed transfusions to recover
Not to mention the dip in your immune system when you lose that much blood, just because of all the white blood cells pouring out along with the rest of it.
Or the fact that a lot of the painful/severe symptoms associated with periods are actually due to medical problems that need to be addressed, but people don’t know this because no one wants to talk about it and associate most of the symptoms with a fictional version of PMS
That last point is really worth emphasising.
Look, periods suck, but they’re not supposed to suck so much that you’re genuinely incapacitated for days at a time. If you’re literally in agony every month, then that’s a sign there might be something else going on.
Pls reblog this could save a life
*bows in tiny velociraptor*
thank
Not to mention that PMS can legitimately make people feel self-destructive and/or briefly suicidal even if they weren’t before and won’t be afterwards. It’s a terrible feeling, and no one deserves to go through it.
Love to my dark skin Asians
And people who claim that dark skinned Asians aren’t a thing in Asian especially Japan are promoting colonialist bullshit.

Forever reblog for da facts and the Greese reference😂😍💕
So. Several people asked it from me. Before it was taken down from Youtube, I ripped off the 2005 proshot video of the 2005 Vienna revival of Elisabeth, with Maya Hakvoort, Mate Kamaras and Serkan Kaya. Ya know, the really cool one with English subtitles. The quality, however, isn’t the best, of course, but hey, it’s something!
So peeps, get yourselves educated and watch this. It’s worth your time. BELIEVE ME.
