I'm ngl, I sometimes get a little embarrassed before posting some of my aus bc every single time I come up with the most random stuff ever since I absolutely love mashing many of my interests together with undertale just to create new aus and stuff,,
then I remember that "hey?? I can do whatever the hell I want as long as it isn't harmful??" and I lock the hell in again and start cooking up some random shit
I've been making my own aus since 2016 and even then i used to get really embarrassed to put my ocs on Undertale related stuff but undertale really IS my favorite game of all times + its aus so it's something kinda of inevitable
I grew up silently judging myself and never sharing my concepts bc I thought they were too wild and disconnected and I never really trusted my way of writing the characters and kept thinking I'd get literally crucified for mischaracterising someone in the slightest
nowadays, although I do keep most of the stuff to myself and to my close friends, I am definitely more comfortable with sharing some concepts like the Undertale + creepypasta stuff or even TROTPR + Undertale (that au has a special place in my heart since it got me to meet two of my most beloved friends nowadays) ( @thestarvedzombie and its partner cof cof )
most of my self judgement also comes from the fact that I'm not sans-centered AT ALL
even back in 2016 I wanted to be all different and make aus focuses on my favorite characters (alphys and undyne) and that didn't change at all,, although nowadays I do it because I genuinely understand that I should do whatever makes me happy
I should write what makes me happy, I should draw what makes me happy
who the hell cares if I'm making alphys and sans be siblings?? who the hell cares if i playfully headcanon undyne and grillby to be friends bc of the sheer irony of him being made of fire and her HATING the heat?? it's all about creativity and doing what makes you happy anyway
characters will get mischaracterized one way or another at some point so,, maybe I should just embrace that and keep cooking my stupid aus and putting the characters in situations that they'd NEVER be in, it's all for the love of the game (literally)
