My Origin Story: How The Stone Fairy Studio Began

Greetings all,

My name is Ken, also known as The Stone Fairy. I wanted to share a glimpse into my world and what led me to where I am now. I began making jewelry in the summer of 2021, drawn to the idea of having a creative outlet where I could explore my inspiration. I wanted to use my own two hands to create something magical to share with others. Nature played a big role in that first step onto this path. I’ve always loved spending time by the river in my city, lying on a blanket in the sun, or wandering a forest trail.

My spiritual path - especially my work with the fae and nature spirits - had a huge influence on my desire to create. Crafting with my hands allows me to channel mindful, grounded energy and be fully present in the flow. I’ve always admired stones, waterways, shifting light, and the quiet presence of trees. One of my favorite places to connect with nature is by a body of water, sitting on the earth and simply being present.

The first pieces I ever made were angel bracelets and necklaces. I felt drawn to their ethereal quality and the idea of creating something that could offer gentle protection. Bringing my first pieces to work was terrifying because I wasn’t sure how they would be received. That fear turned out to be unfounded - my coworkers at the nursing home loved them and ended up buying most of what I brought in. It meant a lot to know that so many of my peers wanted to carry something I created with them on their own journeys.

As I continued creating and expanding my offerings, I felt inspired to start The Stone Fairy Studio that same summer. I wanted a name that reflected who I am and the path I walk. My hope is that my studio carries a grounded, mindful energy - something simple, calming, and intentional. The encouragement I received at work is what pushed me to share my jewelry with more people. I hope the balanced energies I weave into each piece support your journey well.

This jewelry bundle was inspired by the experience of walking a spiritual labyrinth. The spiral has always represented the soul’s journey and evolution to me - a reminder that growth is not linear, but a path that circles inward and outward as we learn, release, and return to ourselves. The tree of life carries its own wisdom, symbolizing interconnectedness, grounding, and the cycles we move through.

The first bracelet in this bundle was created with pink aventurine and ammonite stone beads. Pink aventurine supports love, healing, and self‑compassion through the heart chakra, while ammonite connects to transformation, personal growth, and grounding through the root. Together, they hold a gentle but steady energy.

The second bracelet was made with green aventurine and amethyst. Green aventurine carries the energy of abundance, freedom, and growth through the heart chakra. Amethyst supports calmness, intuition, and communication through the throat and third eye. This pairing feels like a quiet breath - grounding and expansive at the same time.

Each piece was crafted with intention, using copper wire, stainless steel ear hooks, gemstone beads, and tree of life charms. I love nature and take inspiration from her beauty for every piece I create.

I’d like to formally introduce you to my sacred space. Imagine antique wooden furniture, circling burning incense, drying flowers, sparkling crystals, and the ringing of a singing bowl. Every treasure in this room was chosen with intention to cultivate an aura of calmness. Keeping my altar in my bedroom creates an inner sanctum where my spirituality can flourish. Each morning I burn incense, recite a pagan prayer, and do an oracle or tarot reading. This daily ritual grounds me and helps me stay centered as I move into the day. This space holds many parts of my practice. It’s where I do ritual, journal, create jewelry, read tarot and oracle cards, dry herbs, practice my harp, and work with herbal remedies. I keep three altars here: my main fairy altar for ritual, a herbalism altar, and a self‑love Aphrodite altar. My herbalism altar is filled with earthy colors, dried flowers, a mortar and pestle, and the tools I use for plant‑based work. My Aphrodite altar holds a statuette of the goddess, roses, seashells, perfume, and a red candle. Each altar was crafted with intention and with treasures that spoke to me. Blessed Be.

I am originally from Virginia, and my spiritual practice with nature spirits and the fae has taken me to places that feel ancient, sacred, and deeply alive. I’ve been drawn to Mont‑Saint‑Michel in France, Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel in Mexico, and the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. Each place shifted something in me, widening my perspective and filling my life with memories that continue to shape my path.

My journey into spirituality began quietly. I bought my first deck, the Fairy Tarot by Doreen Virtue, in 2018, but I didn’t pick it up until Fall 2020. Before then, I was simply interested in myths and legends without having a practice of my own. When I started nursing school in August 2020, I turned to spirituality as a form of self‑care, and it became a life‑long path. My first altar was small—an offering board, a few fairy and dragon statuettes, and a wooden one‑card tarot holder. I would pull a card and recite a pagan prayer. Over time, my practice grew, and so did my altar. It now holds many statuettes, sacred tools, and treasures that support my connection to the fae and the natural world.

In the summer of 2021, I began making jewelry as a way to stay mindful and grounded. My partner at the time encouraged me to share my pieces at work, and my coworkers responded with so much support. They loved the simplicity, the craftsmanship, and the intention behind each piece. From angel necklaces and bracelets, I expanded into charm necklaces, tumbled stone bracelets, earrings, seasonal pieces, and eventually wire wrapping. My work continued to grow through word of mouth, and I’m grateful for every person who has connected with something I’ve made.
