Hello and welcome to my Franz Ferdinand sideblog!

I’m Floyd! I’m 16 years old, I’m from the north west of England, and I’m non-binary! I use they/them pronouns :) my main is @theblackberryhimself

I’ve been listening to Franz Ferdinand since January 2025, which I know because I listened to the first album when The Human Fear was still like a new release. I found their music via an edit of two characters from another fandom I’m in- I was making a playlist for it, and the song (which was 40’ btw) both really fit the vibe of the characters and also Franz Ferdinand counted as a reference to the fandom, since they were mentioned once! So I was adding it to the playlist when I decided to listen to the rest of the album… then the next album… and so I listened to the entire discography and now here we are :)

It’s difficult for me to say which FF song is my favourite, since it changes basically every few weeks. Sometimes it’s a really famous one like Dark of the Matinee, other times it’s an obscure b-side like Anyone In Love. The same goes for albums and music videos- I just can’t choose lol I love them all!!!

Other things that I will probably mention sometimes include: Shoot from the Hip (an improv comedy group based in London that can be found on YouTube; this is the fandom i mentioned before), Dan and Phil (I am desperate for a Nilex!phan au. I yearn for it.), Cathedral Choir (I’m a choral scholar and soprano so I love spotting all Alex’s religious imagery moments. Not that I’m very religious but I practically live in a cathedral lol so it’s just fun spotting them), and various other things. But those are the main three.

FranzFeb Week One: Favorite Album(s)

ok I’m planning out my franzfeb. I think I’m doing a quartet of short-ish essays centered around the first couple years of my Franz special interest and being a dork ass autistic middle schooler in their own little world

Week 1 (favorite album): How to cross the Atlantic in a 23-foot fishing boat (or at least a version of it… on RTRWRA and the summer that changed my life)

Week 2 (favorite performance): either something about Brixton 2004 (and rewatching it as an adult) or something for the FFS concert I went to in 2015 or maybeeeeeeee Philly 2018 (which I’ve talked about expansively already) but I’ll have to figure it out based on how my week 1 essay shakes out. I’ll figure it out

Week 3 (member appreciation): the Nitzki episode (on Nick’s version of Dream Again, insomnia, little-t trauma, and 13-year-old Lev Fran’s expansive dreamworld)

Week 4 (franzdom memories): I have no idea where to start. this fandom raised me and I met my best friend here. I’ll figure something out and it’s probably going to be a love letter to my best friend

I’m super excited for this and I promise I’ll lock in and make these ideas into actual material. Yes I’m busy with other stuff but I’ll find the time between school and work and such

Franzfeb week 1: Favourite Albums!

So I couldn’t decide which album to do. Haha. So I just did all of them! So this week, I offer these:

You can see with the first one that I was trying to use like aesthetic pictures for these (spoiler alert: I didn’t keep doing that)

Hehehe I’m super happy with how I did blood :D (it took me a long time to find pictures that weren’t too dark lmao)

I did this one in the middle of the night with my blue shade on and my brightness all the way down so the colours are a bit meh but it’s ok. ALSO I had to use that picture of Bob and Dino from Always Ascending because it’s my favourite thing ever I love it

Next week: who knows?

HIII (this is a little out of the blue but) could you please tell me what eye color Dino and Alex have?!? I can’t find any good pics of their eyes and it’s V important atm 😚

ok uhhhhhh I think (?) both of them have blue eyes based on the pictures I was looking at but it’s pretty tricky to tell lol edit: I think alex’s are a slightly less blue blue but they’re still a bit blue?
