You know you are in love when you don’t spend your time imagining him naked, but instead waste away the hours debating which side he sleeps on at night or why he combs his hair to the right instead of the left. I find myself daydreaming about how he holds his fork and which shoe he puts on first, for there is a certain beauty to be found in a man who would rather play card games with you on his bedroom floor than stick his hand up your skirt when your guard is down. I’d like to think that life with him will always be this easy, but life does not hand you lemons, it pelts them at you and tells you ‘duck’ only after it sees you lying on the ground with a back eye and a bruised heart. I just hope he will be there to pick up the pieces and pour me a cup of tea, because lemonade just doesn’t heal the soul.
