(Yes, he’s the human counterpart of the fire breathing genie (aka Rumplestiltskin) that I was telling you about… *swoon*)
It’s been ages since I painted anything Critical Role related… So here’s Gilmore! :)

He could verily easily ignore her for the rest of the trip, but annoying her would be far more fun. She was cute when she was annoyed. “Oh no? And what dalliance do you prefer? Embroidery?”
“Among other things, although it is not a favourite,” she said vaguely. “Why, do you have an interest in it?”
She thought that bringing up thinking of new creative methods of torture would kill the conversation and for a few moments contemplated doing exactly that to be rid of him. On the other hand it might make him even more annoying.
“What do I call you, as it seems we will have to tolerate each other’s presence.”
He shrugged a shoulder. “Occasionally. It is an artform all its own.” Not really his area. He preferred to have his hands free for other things, as she would learn.
“Calder.” He gave a shallow bow. “Your ladyship. I assure you judge my presence too harshly too soon.”

“You are particularly worthy,” he said sweetly. He might have to compose a real song documenting her personality. What rhymed with harpy?
Calder leaned against the side of the ship, leaving that trail of thought for a moment. Her new roommate. Could he insist on sleeping in her cabin? Even after being ‘shipwrecked’ he wasn’t all that tired. He could likely stay up another night and day. But if it meant pestering her, he could make an exception.
“Sometimes. But a person can do quite a bit with scraps and a bit of imagination.” He canted his head. “And skill, of course.”
She stared at him for a second then raised a shoulder, “I seem to have made quite an impression for you to spend time on such things,” she said dryly. Hey, if he wanted to keep obsessing over her he very well could. Not her problem, as long as he got the hell out of her cabin.
“On that we agree, surprisingly. Although it is not my preferred method of creating.”
Human mind-scraps were especially nice to play with. One day she would shape herself some choice knights that way.

But she would know where to find things in the Unseelie’s capital city. The queen had to have the most fantastic and exotic garden of all, and he would be more than happy to liberate some to a more temperate home. Still, good to know which sibling to go to for greenery talk. If her brother talked any softer than a knife edge.
He tilted his head. “Then where do your talents like, milady?”
He’d have trouble trying to get Ciaradh to talk as easily as Elwyn did, even though he was the more diplomatic of the two. Elwyn wondered how this Fomoire would react if he saw her mother’s orchids; no one ever expected Mab to have a greenhouse of all things, not to mention grow something as delicate as orchids.
Of course, the Winter Queen having unexpected layers was a fundamental truth of this world.
“I enjoy hunting, sword-fighting,” she shrugged, “And I can organize a mean mean party.”
They wouldn’t necessarily have to talk. Calder preferred other forms of communication. Talking could be so troublesome. He was a man of action. Perhaps the prince was as well.
Calder raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smile curving his lips. “All excellent qualities in a woman,” he said, “And you must include diplomacy. Elsewise why would you have been sent here?”

A grin appeared, light dancing in his eyes. She was much prettier when she laughed. For a Sidhe. Softer. It made him miss his wild Sínead.
He put a hand over his heart. “Every woman deserves a song as tailored to her as the cut of a dress.” His eyes dipped over her and back up to her face. “Some more closely tailored than others.” He shrugged, tossing his hair back. “One can’t throw away good material, either for stitchery or songwriting.”
She nodded as she gathered the last spoonfuls from her bowl. “I see. And I am worthy of a specially tailored swear-song as it seems. How thoughtful of my new roommate.”
She finished with her food by swiping at the walls of her bowl with another piece of bread then gracefully set it on the side, turning to face him fully.
“So what you mean is that sometimes you are working with scraps?”
She almost added that her mother would find that fitting but she had enough training by now to hold her tongue. She didn’t need to tell her life story to this one.
“You are particularly worthy,” he said sweetly. He might have to compose a real song documenting her personality. What rhymed with harpy?

‘Unwise’ might be an understatement. Then again, he couldn’t think of anyone who had forsaken them entirely and gone on living. At least for much longer. “No, it would not. But I do not think I would like to. The Raumo are…” He tilted his head, searching for the words. “Strict in their structure. Not much room to move around.” He smiled. “Rather ironic. The Fomoire are the opposite. Everyone can find a place—or several, and it is little problem if you wish to become something else.”
He studied her across the table again, pale and lovely. “Would you go back to where you came from, given the choice?”
It was ironic and it made her smile. Then again, she supposed a nomadic culture would have to be strict in order to survive; make sure everyone can follow the rules in a moment’s notice.
Her eyebrows shot up at his question, “Go back to the humans? Lovely as they may be no, I have nothing left there.” Not to mention the constant headaches and difficulty to breathe one got by staying too long in the mortal worlrd. Too much iron both around you and in the lungs. And that smell. She supposed it would have been rude to say that to someone accepted as a Fomoire though.
He tilted his head. Nothing left, but she still felt some connection to them. She considered them where she came from. “I suppose it would be rather complicated. Very different.”
He traced glyphs on the table, thinking. “I admit that still don’t have many interactions with humans... without our influence. How would you describe them?”
