A trans person will simply exist in the same building as a child, and conservatives will make a scene about how "inappropriate" and "indecent" it is. But a children's author will upskirt a trans woman and post said photo to her 14 million followers on social media, a significant number of whom are most likely children, and suddenly conservatives don't seem to care about appropriateness and decency. It's almost like they never cared about the children in the first place. Weird...

If criminals don't get to have human rights, then the people in charge of deciding what a criminal is get to decide who is and is not human. Do you understand? Is this not blindingly obvious? Do you care?

Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.

i really hope someday someone else can do the "tumblr sexyman is actually a trans girl" bait and switch in the future, and do it in a better show. because the idea on its own, divorced from jax and gooseworx, is fucking genius.

i hate how some ppl act like disliking an asshole character is wrong or makes you stupid, esp when said character is shown to be abusive. no you are NOT "unable to handle complex female characters" bc you dont like someone toxic. ppl see someone toxic they wont like them. looking at you awesome virtual carnival fandom
