just thinking a bit about ts2 bc i saw that post again and not only does sims 2 have so much character, it’s also a game that is undeniably the sims. it takes you by the neck and you will deal with the drama, the aliens, the occults, the everything.

you play and you don’t know what’s going to happen 100% because your sim could get a chance card at work and get demoted or even fired. the sims in this game have such strong presence? they will do things differently based on their personality trait. their aspirations will have a strong impact on their characters and day to day life from the lifetime want to the wants and fears system. they have actual consequences so you are strongly encouraged to give and take with your sims because you don’t want them to have aspiration failure.

i have many dear memories from playing sims 4 but in that game you have to be the director, the decision maker, and every role in between. there are no strong consequences or sources of unpredictability. in sims 2 you’re an archivist who is documenting the lives of these little blorbos. sims 2 my beloved.
