I'm not gonna lie, I love HOTD and I've been defending S2 for so long, but at this point I just don't get the writers. We already have many canon relationships that they can work on, but instead they're giving us complete bullshit.
Daemon/Rhaenyra = Main ship of the show. They're definitely not over, but their absence in S2 is so noticeable. One of the many reasons S1 was so good was because of them. I know that they can't have scenes because of Daemon's time at Harrenhal, but we could've easily had some more before he left. Or even if Daemon's visions were central on Rhaenyra, the person he's hurting the most now.
Aegon/Helaena = I'm not saying that this is a relationship to ship, but nonetheless it is a marriage. I would have loved to see some scenes between them to see their dynamic. Especially after their son died.
Aemond/Alys = Once again, not necessarily a relationship to ship and I understand why we haven't seen them yet, but why is all of Alys' screentime about Daemon? It just feels like the whole "haunting" part could have worked just as well on Aemond when he arrives in Harrenhal.
Corlys/Rhaenys = One of the healthiest relationships and we didn't even get a proper goodbye between them before her death...
Jace/Baela = They're so cute together and barely have any screentime.
Criston/Alicent = I wouldn't mind this as much if we actually got some build-up. I mean, looking back at S1 it actually makes sense for them to end up romantically involved but the execution of this "relationship" in S2 was terrible.
Daemon/Alyssa = I get the whole point of this vision was to completely freak Daemon out, but at the same time I understand the people who say that this scene was not needed and could have easily been something different.
Rhaenyra/Mysaria = Makes no sense at all. I know this will annoy some hardcore Rhaenicent shippers, but Rhaenyra has never shown interest in women. I know that in the book it's hinted that she was kinda involved with Daemon and Laena together, but they cut that out from the show so book Rhaenyra ≠ show Rhaenyra. It completely taints Daemyra and I'm not saying this as their shipper, but also as a casual viewer. The showrunners constantly give us scenes (and even directly tell us) where they show us how Daemyra are "meant to burn together" and how much they need each other, so this is just bleh. Also, you guys are crazy if you think Mysaria has pure intentions for Rhaenyra. That girl is only looking out for herself.
I don't know, it's just starting to feel like they're doing things for the drama and shock value or fan-service at this point.
Either way, it's obvious that Mysaria isn't a threat to Daemyra's relationship but it was still an unnecessary addition.
