The problem isn't necessarily about the terms themselves, but the way people use them. So far, most posts I've seen about "tme's" were people directing threats and insults towards trans guys, intersex people or nonbinary people specifically, not to mention that they usually fail to acknowledge how misogynoir and intersexism intersects with transmisogyny.

I've seen a lot of trans women and transfeminine people frustrated with the rampant misogyny and MRA movement the trans men and transmascs are caught up in and I've seen the term "tmes" used in ways that have been read this way come up in that context. And you know what? I do actually think it's fair that people in a marginalized group who have been talked over about their own language sometimes lash out to the people talking over them. Trans men will mansplain transmisogyny to trans women and I've seen it happen on a very widespread basis for the past 10 years. Trans women who have lost their patience have earned the right to their frustration.

Racism and intersexism is a huge problem across the trans community and is not limited to tma people, either.

Opinion: TMA/TME is not exorsexist

This is gonna ruffle feathers, but I really believe this is the most nonbinary inclusive language that I think could accurate explain what is being discussed with this distinction.

Since our society is exorsexist, the patriarchy is exorsexist. It's built on a binary. Unfortunately, the genders we were assigned at births are binary and the patriarchy doesn't know how to account for our nonbinary genders and experiences.

Transmisogyny is the intersection of "misogyny directed at women who are trans" and "transphobia directed at trans people who are women." Since the patriarchy doesn't have room for nonbinary genders, nonbinary amab people often are seen as 'trans women' to the institution of the cisheteropatriarchy. Thus, identifying people as "transmisogyny affected" and "transmisogyny exempt" allows us to discuss the nuances of transmisogyny as it affects nonbinary people across the trans genderscape.

I have seen this said a lot, that it's exorsexist, and that primarily comes from what I've seen from tme people of all genders who don't understand what transmisogyny is and/or don't like what essentially amounts to the acknowledgement of our privilege in this area. I think part of the problem is that trans men don't have a good word to describe how the intricacies of how the transphobia they face interacts with the patriarchy, so it often feels like afab people getting told there's an axis of trans oppression that we don't have access to. But I really think we need to look at the actual terms and what they actually mean to give credit to nonbinary inclusion rather than calling it exorsexist because it's complicated.
