How come we haven't seen coin flip cards in a while? Krark's Thumb is lonely.

Every time we go to put one in a file, we have to flip a coin first…

It’s a niche thing that we do infrequently.

I’ll ask how often would you like to see new coin flip cards (in Standard-levels sets)?

a) Every set

b) At least once a year

c) Once every few years

d) Never

I think B is the best option here - it gives people more to play around with, but not so many that people find them too annoying.

Inquiring Minds Want To Know - New Worlds

My question for today is about new worlds you’d like to see (for a Standard-legal set). You can tell me about any source material (cultural or genre) you’d like to see serve as an inspiration for a set or any existing mechanical components or themes you’d like to see a set built around. The only thing I ask for you not to give me is mechanical things Magic has not done yet (aka I am not soliciting new Magic cards, mechanics or mechanical components). Thanks.

1) Titan Plane - A world where people live on and in the bodies of giant titans.

2) Wild-West Plane - Probably would be difficult to execute, especially with the issues revolving around the era, but the aesthetic is something I’d like to see. At the least, maybe a world with heists, outlaws, railroads, and frontier protectors.

3) Space Plane - Not necessarily a plane with space exploration, but maybe one with a giant focus on the skies. Theros felt like one take of this with the constellations coming to life, but I’d like to see another plane that takes celestial bodies in a different direction.

4) Post-Post Apocalyptic Plane - I want to see a world that has recently begun recovery from an unseen near-end event. Either in a world we have seen, or one we haven’t. If we do see one, I want the tone to be optimistic.

5) Failed Prophecy Plane - As a counterpart to the Post-Post Apocalyptic plane, I’d like to see a world in which a hero failed in their quest, showing the aftermath left behind by whatever threat. Possible lead in with the hero being a planeswalker returning to see the consequences of their leave.

Inquiring Minds Want To Know - Planes to Visit in the Future

In today’s information gathering, I’m interested to hear what planes you want to visit in an upcoming Standard-legal set. Here’s how I would like you to respond. Please list, in order, your favorites from one up to five. You can list less than five, but please restrict yourself to five answers. Number 1 should be the plane you most want to see us visit in the future.

If you’re interested you may also tell me why you want to return to that plane. You can list any known plane including ones we’ve never visited before. I need names of existing planes though and not “wild west plane”.

Here’s an example:

1. Innistrad - It’s my favorite plane

2. Fiora - I love Conspiracy and would like to see Fiora in a Standard-legal set.

3. Tarkir - Go back, but there better be clans.

4. Rath - I don’t know how you’d do it, but I’d love it.

5. Alara - More Esper please.

I would love to get a lot of data, so please pass this along to your Magic friends to answer as well.

1. Vryn - We've never visited the world in a standalone set (tiny bit in Origins), and it is home to Jace, the most popular planeswalker from your market research. I like the sort of industrial feel of the plane, as well as the civil war for resources.

2. Tarkir - Dragons were cool, but I liked the clans better. You left some strands hinting at their return, and I'd love to see the wedges again.

3. Theros - The enchantment theme was fun, and we have multiple ties to the plane from multiple planeswalkers. Gideon, Samut, Elspeth, Dack (?), and Ajani all have ties.

4. New Phyrexia - I want to see the infighting with the Praetors, and to see how the Mirran Resistance is doing. Plus, I want to see KotH again. Story tie with Karn.

5. Lorwyn - Ixalan was a modern take on a tribal set, and I'd love to see Lorwyn with that modern ideology in mind.

I know its all in good fun but it’s always funny how when a character is genderbent suddenly they’re super bold and hyper comfortable in their sexuality LOL
