I quite like the look of the Level 70 Samurai gear. That, and it matches the Ramuh katana nicely.

FFxiv 30 Day Writing Challenge SEPTEMBER 1st - 30th, 2019
Welcome to YEAR 3 of our annual FFxiv 30 Day Writing Challenge, folks!
In 2017 we saw 2,451 written pieces ranging from three-lined haikus to multi-paged stories. 2018 ramped up even more with 3,641 written pieces!
We are a merry band of prolific writers, FFxiv RP community, and I couldn’t be prouder of our willingness to challenge ourselves creatively, using our RP craft as inspiration. Let’s see how we do in 2019!
Here’s the gist:
Runs from September 1st - 30th, 2019. During that timeframe:
Visit @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast once a day at 12:00pm (noon) PST for the prompt of the day. All prompts will be one word or brief phrase that you can interpret however you please.
You have 24 hours to write something for that prompt.
Submit the link to your entry post via this Google Form: https://forms.gle/EJV82Wh85BZpwaFa9 – Tumblr has been hiding @ mentions from my dash which means that I’m missing so many of your entries. :( Submitting a link to your post via this Form will ensure that everyone’s posts are seen and tracked! Please help me, haha. Tag @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast in your post, and use the hashtag #FFxivWrite2019.
There are no length or skill requirements (short & sweet is fine!).
There will be no 24-hour deadlines for the first week, September 1st - 7th.
Makeup/extra credit days every Sunday.
Every entry posted within its 24-hour deadline will count toward a participation prize raffle at the end.
You can join any time - late entries are welcome! They simply won’t count toward participation prizes - unless submitted on a makeup day.
If you’re an artist and you would like to volunteer to do a simple black & white illustration as a participation prize at the end of this challenge, please let me know!

LAST-MINUTE RULE CHANGE: Please submit a link to your entries via this Google Form for all submissions moving forward: https://forms.gle/EJV82Wh85BZpwaFa9
Friends, I’m so sorry that I’ve been missing so many of your posts! Tumblr has been absolutely terrible in regards to giving me visibility to the extent that it’s showing me only a fraction of the post that you’re @ mentioning me in. Between scrolling through my activity feed and going through your messages with links to missed posts, it’s got me spending roughly 2+ hours a day trying to make sure that I don’t miss anyone. That’s not manageable for me.
So! The new solution is to submit a link to each of your posts via the above Google Form moving forward. This will help me tremendously on the tracking side of things by a) making sure that I see everyone’s posts, and b) ensuring that I’m able to continue to run this challenge each year.
If you are still missing likes from me on posts, please submit those links via this Google Form as well and note that it was missed.
And as an added bonus, taking the tracking portion off of Tumblr means that folks can now post their entries on any platform of their choice, whether it be Tumblr, An Archive Of Our Own, WordPress, a Google Doc, from the RPC Forums - etc.! As long as you can provide a link that allows me to be able to view what you’ve written, you’re good and the post will be tracked.
The original Rules have been updated to reflect this change. Please help me spread the word! Reblog this Updated Rules post and I’ll give you one free pass on any late entry of your choosing, counting it toward the participation prize. Simply note that you’re using your free pass when you submit the link in the Google Form.
THE TL;DR -
1. Submit your post links via a Google Form from now on (link above).
2. Submit links to posts that are missing Likes from me via the Google Form as well.
3. You can now write your posts anywhere and it will count.
4. Reblog this Updated Rules post for a free pass on a late entry of your choosing.
The Rules have been updated to reflect the above. Skim them, please!
Prompt #3: Lost
Being the Warrior of Light isn't all it’s cracked up to be.
Sure, sometimes you’re clashing with the strongest of Primals or dancing the razor’s edge of life and death on a regular basis. There are thousands that look to you as inspiration, the shining bastion of good in a sea of grim futures.
And sometimes you get dragged headfirst across the boundaries between realities to a wholly unfamiliar city, and end up left to your own devices. A stranger in a strange land, in the purest sense.
Currently, Kaladan was suffering from the latter, and found himself walking in frustrated circles through the weaving streets of the Crystarium.
“Seven hells...how did I get back here again?!” the hrothgar grumbled, glaring at the Aetheryte as if the glowing crystalline construct had somehow coerced him back into the plaza. “Meet me at the Crystal Tower he says. It’s in the middle of the city, can’t miss it, he says.” He whirled around, gesturing towards the massive spire of glowing blue crystal visible some distance away. “But how do I even GET there?!”
He stomped over to a nearby bench and flopped down with a frustrated huff, folding his arms across his chest with a scowl. “Yank me halfway across the apparent multiverse and he doesn’t even have the decency to give me actual directions.”
The hrothgar's irritable mumbling was interrupted by a light tap on his shoulder, but even just a gentle touch was enough to cause him a slight jolt as he looked backwards. His gaze fell upon the newly introduced frame of the Exarch, and despite the mysterious man’s darkened hood, a smile was visible on his face.
“Lost, are we?” He mused, unable to stifle a slight laugh at the irritated leonine’s expense.
“Don’t you start with me, Crystal Boy. You left me at the gate.” Kaladan replied with a huff, hauling himself to his feet again. “Lead the way, then.”

Prompt #2: Bargain
To some, a weapon is just that; A weapon. Nothing more than another tool to get the job done, a lifeless chunk of cold steel meant only for battle. But there are those who vehemently assert otherwise. To a seasoned combatant, a weapon is an extension of one’s self and a veritable conduit of purpose. Fighter and blade are one, an inseparable bond that overcomes any trial to achieve victory, even against seemingly insurmountable odds. It is as an artist and his brush, without it...there is nothing.
Dull and empty, like the coinpurse hanging on the hrothgar’s worn leather belt. Escaping Garlemald was no easy feat, leaving him with naught more than the coat on his shoulders and the blade slung across his back. He had come so far, only to be thwarted at the finish line by his unfortunate lack of gil.
“I already told yous, I’ve got no need of any more hired help.” grumbled the ferryman, a stern-faced highlander with a tapestry of scars adorning his rugged countenance. “You want on, pay the toll or be on your soddin’ way.”
Kaladan’s shoulders sagged slightly, and he nodded with a solemn expression. “Right. I’ll let you be about it, then.” He replied, shaking his head as he turned to stride back down the pier. Perhaps there was a relatively dry alley he could spend the night in, and maybe have better luck on the morrow. Before he could take a step, however, the hrothgar felt a hand rest on his shoulder.
“Now...hold on a moment.” The ferryman mused, scratching his grizzled chin with his free hand. “That there antique on your back, that an original?”
The hrothgar blinked, reaching back instinctively to trace a few fingers over the hilt of his gunblade. Stolen from his owners’ home the night he fled the Empire, it had served him true on his long trek across the wild country towards civilization.
“Aye.” He murmured in response. “What about it.”
The ferryman grinned, revealing rows of misshapen, yellowing teeth. Several were capped in gold, though clearly not by an expert hand. “Well, I happen t’be in a barterin’ mood, man. If yer so willin t’part with that little number, consider yer ferry toll paid in full, aye?” He crooned, stretching out one gnarled hand to offer a shake.
Kaladan slowly turned, looking the man up and down several times before his eyes rested on the outstretched palm. There was nothing for him here, a no-name port barely worth charting on a map. But if he could make it to Limsa Lominsa, maybe...just maybe, he might have a chance. He sighed heavily, slowly reaching out to shake the old sailor’s outstretched hand.
“Deal. But mark my words, old man. I’ll be back for her someday.”

I see now… This is the passion of my ascension… Very well, I shall embrace this trial!
Prompt #1: Voracious
The low rumble of grinding gears and whining echo of hissing steam bounced through the Hinterlands valley, cascading through the rocks and along the winding rivers, only growing louder as its source grew closer. A towering, shimmering barricade, and behind it, the great mechanical titan, straining against its bonds.
“Remind me what they call it again?” mused the hrothgar, slowly lowering the pair of loaned goggles from his eyes.
“Alexander, the divine bloody machine.” replied the Ironworks chief with no small measure of scorn, reaching out to take back his goggles and raise them to his face again. “And you don’t need me to tell you how bad this is, Kal. That thing’s appetite for aether is off the charts.”
“Aye, I was paying attention to the first brief. At least the relevant parts. It was only active for a few seconds, but just that much time was enough to nearly drain the Hinterlands of all its ambient aether.” Kaladan grumbled, folding his arms across his chest as he surveyed the colossal primal.
Cid slung the goggles on his belt and sighed, nodding his head slightly before gesturing down towards the foot of the machine. A group of individuals had gathered by the glowing portcullis, of all sizes, shapes and professions.
“That’s your insertion team, time to do what you do best.”
The hrothgar turned to stride down the hill, pausing a moment to look back with a toothy grin. “Break things that you deem important? Always.”

One of my FC members made a photo studio, so I played around with taking a few screenshots of my Tank glams.
Paladin Level 80!
...also I finally used my last fantasia to become a Hrothgar and I have no regrets.
I noticed today that Divine Veil has a sweet sword flip in it, so I went to the Royal Menagerie to take some pictures of it.
...I am a fool for not having played Paladin sooner.
Send my muse “👀 + a question” and they’ll have to answer with 100% honesty.
No deleting questions, either!

Current tank glamours:
Paladin is only level 50 (so far) so it’s nothing worth showing off just yet!
Theme change, unfortunately the old one had a screwed up ask box and I don’t know jack shit about html so I couldn’t fix it. Should be good now.
