The Spear shrugged. “You could not kill me easily, Warden. Even in my current state I will not go down easily.” Though she did enjoy a challenge, fighting Thresh was something she did not want to do unless she really had to. “Perhaps we were shoved in this tiny closet because we are holders of many souls, maybe an act of jealousy? Boredom? I do not exactly see a purpose of locking the Chain Warden and Lady Vengeance in a closet.” Placing her chin on her hand in thought as she spoke, unsure of the actual cause of this little predicament.

he scoffed. this was growing less interesting. he wasn’t even trapped with someone he could instill fear in. “then the question because who would want to punish us for soul collecting?” he was unsure if that was the actual cause, but mulling it over helped pass the time.

“Maybe they want to make us fight over them, or even take them away.” It was a silly theory, seeing as both would have to die to have every little soul taken from them, even so, the one trying to steal them would die quicker than either of them. 

Kalista tried to move towards the door, pressing against Thresh in the process as she slipped by him. Turning the door knob quickly, only to have it hardly turn at all as the door was still locked. “Hmm…”

he grunted disapprovingly now that not only were the still locked in, but he now had the woman pushed against him in the tight space. "well this is fun." he commented sarcastically, trying not to focus on the sensation of her body pressed against his.

“I…. what?” the Warden asked with a single raised brow ridge. bartenders tended to learn quite a bit through small talk, so it had seemed his ideal choice to learn of possible souls worth harvesting. what he had not anticipated was the absurd situations he found himself in. like his current one. she was easy on the eyes, but she looked a mess. she looked tired and her hair was a mess and she had no shoes. to top it off, she’d sat down without a word and ordered a chocolate volcano. ……at the bar. he had no clue what a chocolate volcano was, or why she wanted one or where she was coming from. “I’m not…. sure what that is….” he answered finally.

The fox looked at the glowing lamp behind the bar and blinked owlishly at him. Her ears twitching on top of her head. She sat up and leaned over the counter, eyeing the glowing person.

“A chocolate volcano…. Ya know… The drink with the dessert… Do.. Did you just start or something?”

The fox fixed herself, mostly hoping those men from before didn’t want their souls back. She summoned her fix bras and turned it over in her hands. Seems their souls would be fine. She dispelled the orb and then looked up at the other.

“Oh.. Never seen you around here.. Mr… Glowing Skeleton.”

so it was a dessert…. drink? sounds repulsive. “Thresh.” he corrected her. “Just thresh. and I’ll see what I can whip up, fox woman.” he said as he turned to the bar, rolling up his sleeves to work. he had no official uniform, but he’d been instructed to dress in a somewhat relaxed formal style. due to this, he’d chosen a black dress shirt, a dark grey vest, and black slacks. he searched the counter for what to toss into this sugary monstrosity, finding kalua, chocolate syrup, crème vodka, and adding a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

She tilted her head and smiled at him as he turned to prepare something for her. To be honest she had no idea if this thing even existed. She had only heard of it on the mainland. She swung her feet and watched the skeleton work.

“Well… I’m not Fox Lady… The name is Ahri. And just so you know… I have no idea if the chocolate volcano is even real, as I was on the mainland when I heard of it.”

She shrugged and placed her elbows on the counter, clasping her hands together and resting her chin on her fingers.

he laughed, the noise raspy and echoing slightly. “If you didn’t know if was real, how do you know im doing it right? I could just be throwing random ingredients together and you’d be none the wiser.” he chuckled, looking over his shoulder at her, a grin across his skeletal face.

She shrugged and smiled at the skeleton.

“Honestly I don’t know. You could be poisoning me and I’d have no clue since I have no clue what goes on the drink.”

Her tailed swished behind her. This man? Skeleton… This skeleton seemed to be an interesting piece of work.

he smirked deviously. “I suppose I could. but where would be the fun in that? after all, we’ve only just met, miss… ahri, was it?” he turned back to her, the drink in his hand as he gently slid it across the bar to her. “have a taste. if you’re brave enough.” he chuckled.

The fox smiles at him and shrugged. There could be fun in poisons as well as just plain murder. It all depended on who was doing what.

“True. And I have brave enough thank you very much.”

She took the drink in her hands and brought it up to her lips, taking her first sip of this ‘chocolate volcano’ drink. She was surprised by how sweet it actually was. She downed the rest.

he raised both brows, somewhat impressed. “not bad, miss.” he chuckled. “and in case you were curious, no, I didn’t put anything in it.” he grinned, resting both hands on the counter. the sensation of the polished wood on his bare hands was odd, as he was unused to being without his gauntlets.

She smiled and nodded.

“Good to know. I’m glad I didn’t just drink my own death.”

She crossed her legs and placed her elbows on the counter, lacing her hands together and her chin on her laced fingers. Her tails swishing behind her.

“So, anything interesting happen around here?”

"indeed. it would be a rather boring end to the evening." he chuckled. "and as far as interesting goes, nothing much. this area isn't exactly a hotspot." he sighed. it meant he'd been hopelessly bored the last few nights.

the warden thought a moment. he brought up some excellent points. however… “My fiendish friend, you don’t quite understand what this implies. true, killing me would be quite an ordeal for you. but as well, I don’t understand all that much of you and your kind. for all im aware, your soul may not give me any strength.” he shrugged, crossing his arms, the clawed fingertips of his gauntlets tapping against his forearms. “I have no reason to fight you, I keep humanity in a constant state of chaos, and you’re not a bad conversationalist. if anything, we should be allies.” he chuckled.

“Allies? Alliance based on my own fears… Sounds quite weak, a weak option from myself. Survival is, after all, a priority in every single form of life over these lands. I’ll opt for the alliance with an undead like you… Anyways, why my soul would mean nothing for a creature whose intentions are the endless soul harvesting? It’s true I don’t possess a ‘soul’.” The darkin leaned down towards the warden as a gently gesture after accepting his suggestive alliance.

“If you attack me, I’ll respond in the same way.”

the warden laughed, the noise echoing eerily. "if you posses no soul, then killing you has no point. alliance or no, I have no reason to kill you." he grinned. "and if its easier, don't think of it as an alliance, think of it as a mutual arrangement. you aid me in collecting souls, and I aid you in killing those you cannot fight on your own." he grinned. if the darkin blade was weak to the those of the isles, he would need the wardens help if he wanted to have any hope.
