According to the Buenos Aires Times, there are now “unconfirmed reports” the mother-of-two consumed “excessive amounts of cocaine, LSD and champagne” on Friday — the night she attended the event with a friend.

But while local news outlets have reported autopsy results showed Ms Jaitt suffered multiple organ failure with no sign of violence, her brother claims she wouldn’t have taken drugs as they would have reacted to medication she had just started taking.

He doesn’t seem to hear her, flustered to be seeing her eye-to-eye. “Furthermore, I think I’d know what sort of girls I grew up with! They’re timid and lack a desire to explore the world.”

“The world you created for them doesn’t take long to explore,” she says. Her sword is bare in her hand. “Marry or descend into poverty. Bear an heir or be cast into poverty. Behave or be thrown into poverty. I was there for a week and figured it out. But,” she continues, looking him up and down, “maybe I shouldn’t be so quick to judge. After all, you’ve lived there your whole life and you still haven’t figured it out.”

He splutters. “That’s not–there are other options–”

“When the revolution is done,” she says, coldly, “and your people are forced to give women rights, see how many stay and how many leave. See how many suddenly discover their wander-lust. See how many end up like me.”

She leaves him there and stalks off to the edge of camp. She leaves him there with his mouth opening and closing, and heart pounding in his chest.

She leaves him there with the unsettling realization that he doesn’t want the women in his village to end up being like her, so different and strong. Because, if they did, where would he be? Where would his home be?

It’s an upsetting realization to have, mid-revolution. No chance to back out now.

This gets me. I don’t know, I may be reading it wrong- I usually am but this scene between Crowley and Sam…

Sam has just confessed, in a way that is his first confession and what he may believe will be his last confession, every single ‘sin’ he has in his life. He wasn’t confessing sex before marriage. He wasn’t confessing credit fraud for his entire life. He wasn’t confessing murder. Sam, our Sammy, was confessing all the times he felt he had failed Dean.

He was confessing being born, being the cause for his mother’s murder 6 months later. He was confessing being his father’s favored and letting Dean bear the brunt of any punishment. He was confessing that he needed protecting. He was confessing that time he ran away, and again when he left for college. He was confessing every time he tried to have a meaningful relationship outside of his family and how Dean always had to clean up afterwards. 

He was confessing Ruby. He was confessing his addiction. He was confessing every time Dean warned him and Sam refused to listen. He was confessing falling for Lilith’s trap. He was confessing every time he was captured and Dean had to risk his life to come and save him. He was confessing saying ‘Yes’ to Lucifer. He was confessing the cage. He was confessing being soulless. 

He was confessing being fragile and weak and needing Dean to protect him for his entire life while Sam railed and fought against it just as hard as he could.  He was confessing being flawed and tainted and impure. 

In his last confession, Sam poured his heart and soul out confessing how he had been nothing but a burden for Dean. He apologized for all the times he couldn’t live up to satisfy the sacrifices Dean made in his own life to protect Sam.

In his last confession, Sam admitted that he did not feel worthy of Dean’s love.

And then he proceeds to spend hours pumping his own purified blood into Crowley. This same blood that has coursed through his veins soaking up all those feelings of negative self worth, and pain, and loss. This blood that is Sam. Pure Sam. Human, imperfect, sinful, insecure Sam. This blood, with all of this emotion is filling Crowley and our King of Hell, our Dealer at the Cross Roads, our Demonic Fangirl who spends his time studying humans by soaking up our literature and down time entertainment, is connecting those emotions to the humans he knows. The characters he has studied to learn what’s the latest craze happening now days.  He is projecting those emotions just like we do when we dive into a show or disappear into a book. 

Crowley is suddenly feeling hopeless, helpless, worthless and unworthy. It is exactly what Sam is feeling. Crowley doesn’t understand the emotions, the feelings, and he picks something that he knows to help relate.

Hanna needs to be loved. She deserves it. Don’t we all— you, me— we deserve to be loved.

This is a really great take on this scene. Sam believes he’s not worthy of Dean’s love, and he knows he doesn’t have Dean’s trust. But Crowley insists that Sam deserves to be loved, and so does himself, the more human he becomes.

And Crowley is right. Even if Sam doesn’t think so, he is worthy of Dean’s love. He justifies his suicide (he did actively want to die, so it goes beyond self-sacrifice) with his confession. He admits that Dean’s life would be easier if Sam wasn’t in it. But none of that is true.

Dean doesn’t exactly address what Sam is saying (to paraphrase: you haven’t shown any trust in me, and the only solution I can come up with is to sacrifice myself in your place). He tells Sam about all the sacrifices he’s made to make sure Sam stays alive, which really just makes Sam feel like more of a burden, but does prevent him taking the swan dive again.

But then… what exactly is Sam confessing? Nothing he’s actually guilty of.

He isn’t to blame for being born, or for the demon deal his mother was manipulated into.

He’s not to blame for any of the abuse his father put on his sons. Dean may not have actually taken the brunt of John’s abuse, but because Sam defied John, he feels that way.

Sam escaped an abusive family situation and pursued his education. He was called selfish for years because he didn’t want to join the “family business.”

He’s apologizing for having relationships outside of his blood family or outside of the hunting business, as if he brings on any tragedy that befalls the people he gets close to. And he’s admitted that he’s afraid to get close to people because everyone around him dies. He looks at the aftermath and sees himself as the burden rather than a victim (no matter what befalls him). When he was suffering from hallucinations and delusions from his PTSD, he hid it because he didn’t want to make things harder for Dean. And he’s been made to feel that he can’t open up to others without being extra baggage.

He’s confessing to being used and manipulated, to being an addict and having a misunderstood mental illness with dangerous stigma against it. How when he and Dean were both wrong, it felt like Dean was always right because Sam must always be wrong.

Sam thinks he’s to blame for being kidnapped on the job he was forced into, or getting into any sort of danger that might endanger Dean, too. Even though Sam would do the same for Dean, and that Dean saves him knowing this.

He said yes to Lucifer to save the world, and he sacrificed himself to nearly 200 years of torture in the Cage at the hands of two archangels with no other form of entertainment besides him. He was confessing what his soulless body did when Heaven and Hell left him to his torture, and only Cas tried to bring him back but couldn’t save him all the way.

He’s easily the strongest-willed person from the perspective of anyone in the know, but he thinks he’s too weak. He says as much when he plans to throw Lucifer back in the Cage (whose release he also blames himself for), and he succeeds because of his willpower and his love for Dean.

He thinks he’s inherently impure and “not clean” (8x21) because of things out of his control, a body he was born with, a fate he was born into. He apologized for being dependent on Dean when that’s never been the case, not really.

Sam’s sacrificed everything that he worked for to be with Dean, because he was forced to choose between the healthy life he wanted for himself and Dean, and being with his family. When he left for college, he was ostracized from the family. It was an ultimatum set to limit him, disguised as a choice, when they should have been there to support him instead. And he saves Dean just like Dean saves him in their line of work. Sam’s lived up to what Dean’s done for him, beyond that even. And who’s to say Sam should owe Dean for something Sam didn’t choose? What kind of sacrifice is Dean making when he expects payment, and when Sam payment just isn’t enough? But Sam believes he needs to repay a debt, and he does and he does and he does.

“In his last confession, Sam admitted that he does not feel worthy of Dean’s love.”

And Crowley, who’s seen enough to understand humanity in a significant way, tells Sam that he deserves to be loved. As he becomes more and more feeling, he insists that Sam is worthy.

If only Sam knew.
