Another One
When you're a child you learn there are three
dimensions
Height, width and depth
Like a shoebox
Then later you hear there's a fourth dimension
Time
Hmm
Then some say there can be
five, six, seven...
I knock off work
Have a beer at the bar
I look down at the glass and feel glad
Love Poem
We have plenty of matches in our house
We keep them on hand always
Currently our favourite brand
Is Ohio Blue Tip
Though we used to prefer Diamond Brand
That was before we discovered
Ohio Blue Tip matches
They are excellently packaged
Sturdy little boxes
With dark and light blue and white labels
With words lettered
In the shape of a megaphone
As if to say even louder to the world
Here is the most beautiful match in the world
It’s one-and-a-half-inch soft pine stem
Capped by a grainy dark purple head
So sober and furious and stubbornly ready
To burst into flame
Lighting, perhaps the cigarette of the woman you love
For the first time
And it was never really the same after that
All this will give you
That is what you gave me
I become the cigarette and you the match,
Or I the match and you the cigarette
Blazing with kisses that smoulder towards heaven
Water Falls
Water falls from the bright air
It falls like hair
Falling across a young girl’s shoulders
Water falls
Making pools in the asphalt
Dirty mirrors with clouds and buildings inside
Most people call it rain

Man Up
Highly recommended unconventional love comedy.
Another of those movie I just started watching to escape from boredom and found myself loving. It leaves you with a really good feeling, I wanted to watch it again immediately after. Honestly, I don’t even know why I was surprised: Simon Pegg and Lake Bell are two amazing comic actors.
P.S. She pulls off an astonishing English accent - I forgot she’s actually American for the entire movie.
Vincent & Butch
Birdman (or the unexpected virtue of ignorance)
Predestination
This is a movie from 2014 by the Spirit brothers, no one talked about it and I can’t understand why. One night I decided to watch it, knowing nothing about it and I was blown away.
I suggest you to do the same. The less you know about this movie, the more you will enjoy it. I will only say that the first half is completely different from the second. Maybe the first one is even a bit long (I still enjoyed it a lot tbh), but the second part is definitely why this is not just a movie with a nice story.
Just to help you make the right decision and watch it, I’ll tell you this: it reminded me of Inception, The Prestige, Fight Club, and basically any movie with a major plot twist. The kind of movie that you need to rewatch as soon as it ends.
Au revoir...
Westworld
My brother started watching it recently and I had the opportunity to see some of those beautiful scenes again.
I’m sure most of you have already watched it all, but if you haven’t you need to. There’s a reason why this was considered one of the best tv shows of our times - actually there’s more than one reason.
1. THE AUTHOR. Westworld is written by Jonathan Nolan. He’s Christopher’s brother, with him he wrote The Prestige, Batman’s trilogy, Interstellar and he invented the story that inspired Memento.
2. THE CAST. I love discovering new actors through a show. Westworld brought to my knowledge Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Dimmi Simpson and many more. Plus there are two great actors who we don’t see enough anymore: Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris.
3. THE CHARACTERS. They are all perfect, naturally. I simply wanted to insert a personal fav here. I loved the way women are portrayed. Two of the strongest characters are female (Maeve and Armistice), plus the main one is Dolores.
4. THE PLOT. No spoilers obviously. I just want to tell you that the plot is very intriguing and you’ll be getting a lot of twists. The best part of watching it once a week was thinking about it for 6 days and creating new theories every time.
5. THE VISUALS. I know that TV is becoming more and more similar to the movies, for what concerns visual effects at least (just think about Game of Thrones). But I was so astonished by them in this show. The Far West vibe are recreated perfectly, and the Westworld center is even better.
6. THE MUSIC. The soundtrack is amazing. There’s a piano cover in each episode and it’s just a lot of fun trying to recognize the songs they chose.
Happy birthday ♥

Before the Flood
Documentaries about food waste, animal cruelty, deforestation etc. are usually really visually disturbing, which is effective but also really uncomfortable. I was very surprise to find myself so engaged in a documentary about climate change.
Before the flood talks about it in a new original way. Leonardo Di Caprio has just become the United Nations Messenger of Peace on cimate change and he’s determined to learn as much as he can. He knows very little about the matter (as the standard viewer does), so we immediately empathize with him. He travels to the endangered zones and interviews some of the most active people in our world to get inspired by them.
All of the informations about climate change are explained in a very simple way and you find yourself understanding engineering, economy and politics.
It’s really empowering and I believe everyone should know what our planet is going through! I can’t believe there are people who still pretends like climate change is a hoax:
“Who better to educate world leaders on made up climate change in a crisis that doesn’t exist than an actor from Hollywood with zero years of scientific training?” (Fox News) This is the typical accusation of someone who hasn’t watch the documentary.
