Well, that’s a bit of an anticlimax.
Toss a coin to your Witcher?
Guys!!!😭 After 71 hours.. my drawing is finally finished!! I started this in fucking March..
It’s done! DONE!!!
I may or may not have just ordered all of The Witcher books.
I may or may not have done this partially because of Geraskier. (I mean, wow, same characters but different personalities that are ALSO canon? I'm intrigued.)
I also may or may not already be writing my first Geraskier fic.
I mean... this is a completely normal for a new obsession. After all, I'm just following protocol.
so i'm bored and a biochemist and decided to tackle the "witchers can smell arousal" thing lmao
"but but but! it would just smell like sex!" No! Boring. I imagine this to be like cadaver dogs able to pick out cadaverine specifically and not just smelling death
so I decided that it would be the amino acid l-citrulline. this is a naturally occuring amino acid that DOES act on arousal in humans- both in creating physical changes (like directing bloodflow) and neurochemically (ie emotionally... though to a lesser effect than other neurochemicals involved in sex)
"But what does l-citrulline smell like" you may find yourself asking! don't know! I'm a measly human and cannot smell a chemical
HOWEVER considering witchers aren't like trained to identify specific chemical scents, they wouldn't know either! "so how is this helpful" you're asking yourself!
L-citrulline is found in high quantities in watermelon. (the latin name for watermelon is where l-citrulline get's it's name!) So the witchers would smell arousal and smell watermelon and therefore associate the two with each other
TL;DR arousal would smell like watermelon to witchers
#a summary
Do you mean
Here to shitpost
Jaskier: Do you ever just want to scream?
Geralt: Scream?
Jaskier: Yeah, scream. Maybe break something, too. Punch someone in the face. Burn something down.
Geralt: ...Do you want a hug?
Jaskier: yes, please
Person A: “Hey you remember that big book we found in that office, the one in the case that said don’t touch?”
Person B: “Yes why?”
Person A: “…”
Person B: “…Please tell me you didn’t”
Person A: “……..”
Person B: “Oh god fuckin- Why are you telling me this NOW?!?”
Person A: “My left hand may or may not be glowing…. just a little bit.”
Person B: “….You absolute Fucking Egg!”
In the spring, Jaskier smells like applewine, tangy and cloying, with a hint of the carrots he carries to bribe Roach into tolerating his presence.
In the summer, Jaskier smells of lavender oil. When Geralt lets Jaskier wash his hair, Jaskier runs the oil through the matted strands and for weeks after they part ways Geralt will catch its scent when a stray lock falls in his face. Even under the stench of blood and viscera, there remains a barely detectable note of lavender – something pure, something clean, something worth saving.
In the autumn, when they meet again, Jaskier smells of juniper and sage, sharp and warm and earthy all at once. When they stop in a town to resupply and enjoy the luxury of a real bed for once, Jaskier smells of warm bread and the linseed oil he uses to clean his lute.
In the winter, when Jaskier contracts a fever and Geralt has to care for him in an experience neither of them is keen to repeat, he smells sour and musky and so very fragile and human that Geralt can hardly bear to look at him for fear he might break.
In the hot, sticky months they spend in Toussaint, when they can’t keep their hands off each other and rut like beasts at every available opportunity, Jaskier smells of sweat and sex and Geralt and it drives him to constant distraction.
They do make it to the coast, eventually, and there Jaskier smells of smoke from the wood-burning stove in their cottage and the salt tang of the sea.
Throughout it all, there’s the faintest trace of something familiar, but it takes Geralt months to place it: Buttercups, warm and rich like honey, fresh and green like a summer meadow. The scent of home.
The alternative version of this:
Jaskier smells horny, all the time. Whenever he’s within ten feet of Geralt, he reeks of heat and want and hunger.
Some weird human thing, Geralt assumes.
#tha additional info sENT ME OFF#geralt being oblivious as to why jaskier smells like cherry all sweet and tangy complementing the flush on his face#he thinks jaskier goes around to fuck any barmaid or stable boy but they have been travelling for days now and the only person jaskier keeps#having contact with is geralt and that makes him stop roach his spine straightening up like he’s sensing an enemy#when jaskier asks him whats the matter geralt only looks at the bard#sees the way jas’ face tilts up to look at him and how the sticky sweetness spikes up when geralt runs his eyes all over jaskier#from head to toe and back to jaskier’s lips and his small mouth parts and geralt has the image of pressing his thumb in between those lips#while jaskier rides his coc—#the sticky sweetness doubles up now and geralt only hmms bc it is interesting via @auroargraves
Hey. So here's the thing.
I'm extremely new to the fandom. As in finished the Netflix series less than 24 hours ago and still working my way through game number one (but own and will play Assassin of Kings and Wild Hunt). Currently thinking about buying books as well because I've heard the characters in the series, games and books are nothing alike, soooooo...
Will most likely be providing more mature ratings of fanfic and fanart once I've got more meat on my bones, because holy hell this ship has me living!
