RIDEAU Takes a New Spin On Basics “Keeping It Basic”

The brainchild of Dylan Granger, RIDEAU’s Act 001 "Canvas" collection consists of primarily cream basics like T-shirts, fleece shorts, tank tops, double-zip hoodies, button-downs, and scene-stealing silk blend bomber jacket. The monotone color story lends to the luxurious, louche energy of the clothes. To Granger, the simple pallet can adapt well to the lifestyle the global citizen, often transient, always needing to look effortlessly put together.

ANONA STUDIO is a print design boutique who works with talented print designers to create curated seasonal collections of print design concepts for the women's & children's apparel, and interior.  ANONA specializes in hand-drawn, hand-painted designs with an artistic sensibility.  The studio founded by Sarah Leaman and Renée Shortell also creates original artwork for clients that need just the right piece to round out their season.

Up and coming designer SixLee teams up with collage artist Ernesto Artillo for their Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook.  Inspired by a growing editorial trend in mixed media in fashion, the new label blossoms with a splash of art.

Burberry Prorsum S/S 2014; "Primary" is Golden

The theme for S/S 2014 led by creative director Christopher Bailey is "Writers and Painters".  The writer was Alan Bennett and the painter was David Hockney.  Like Bailey, they both are from Yorkshire.  A friend of Bailey's happens to be playing Bennett in the West End.  

Impressed  by the ties he wears in the role, Bailey made them part of the collection, as did Hockney's sartorial singularities; primary colors, kooky glasses frames, vivid footwear, the slouch of his clothes.  The muted presence of Yorkshire could be felt in shades of nature, like the blue sky or the newly greenery of spring.  A handful of brightly colored waterproofs co-opted the role of the classic trench.
