A big example of this is the “what about rapists and murderers??” response to prison abolition
Like hey! I dunno! It’s also not my job to design a perfect justice system! But what we’ve got now isn’t working!
Madly, wildly in love with the guy who’s going viral by finding clips of beautiful areas of Europe and then posting them while claiming that they’re from a boring part of North Carolina
shout out to every kind of curry dish ..... indian curry....thai curry.......japanese curry ... the kind with coconut milk and the kind without.......from the light yellow curry to the bodacious red to the rich brown ....... to the ones more soup like and the ones more gravy like.... to the ones with potatoes and to the ones with chickpeas.........this post is for you
Blockchain company BurntBanksy recently bought a $95,000 Banksy artwork, just to set it on fire! The goal was to take art in the physical world and bring in into the digital world as something called an NFT (non-fungible token). The company stated “We view this burning event as an expression of art itself, and we specifically chose a Banksy piece since he has previously shredded one of his own artworks at an auction.” The company is selling the piece on an NFT website called OpenSea, where the current offer is on 2 ETH ($7,357).
deftly turning 95 grand into 7 like any crypto scheme worth it’s salt
love that it happened to a banksy piece too! clown on clown violence
Wild that unclefather is still running the same con after what, 6+ years now
Unpopular opinion but literally not one person in the world should have their human rights violated
If one person's rights can be waved away, so can yours
yes, even those people.
YES, EVEN YOURS!

Hey y'all I still don’t know wtf this means
you know tfw she says "honey take me dancing" but you end up by sleeping in a doorway by the bodegas and the lights on upper broadway wearing diamonds on the soles of your shoes
and also when she makes the sign of a teaspoon and you make the sign of a wave and you're a poor boy and you change clothes and put on aftershave to compensate for your ordinary shoes
I’ve already taken a Valium and it works for about 40 minutes then starts to recede. I just want to go home without anxiety being a factor. I hope I exhaust my body’s cortisol and pass tf out on the long leg of this flight
Anxiety is wild your brain is like “in an airport??? Might shit yourself or vomit on yourself or even just fuckin die” when there’s literally 0 risk or threat in the situation. This post brought to you by my second anxiety poop of the day in a Heathrow bathroom stall
What is or isn't a slur can be highly contextual, y'all.
"Jonny Sims bummed a fag off my ma" doesn't contain a slur, but "What are you, some kind of fag?" does.
"Queer studies", "the queer community" and "I'm queer"? Not a slur. Some bigot calling you a "dirty queer"? Slur.
"Be gay, do crimes" and "He's gay" ≠ slur, but "Ew, that's so gay" = slur.
In conclusion, stop buying into this fucking "q slur" bullshit. Queer people talking about the queer community aren't using it as a slur any more than a gay man calling himself gay is using that term as a slur.
Everyone tagging this as "Don't call people 'queer' if they aren't comfortable with it", I don't disagree with you, but I do have one question for you:
Why are you singling out "queer"?
Hi, I'm queer and I don't like being called gay. Why is it always "don't call people 'queer' if they don't like it" but never "don't call people 'gay' if they don't like it"? Or just "don't call people words they are uncomfortable with"?
Why is it only ever "queer" that gets singled out?
And why do you even feel the need to tag that onto this post? All I said was "stop tagging people referring to themselves this way as if it were the same as bigots hurling it as a slur".
Bc 'queer' means 'strange' and I want to be normalized.
And I want people to stop treating any divergence from "normal" as a bad thing. I'm neurodivergent, I'm never gonna be "normal". I don't care about being seen as "normal", I want "normal" to stop mattering and for people to ask "Is this harming anyone?" instead.
You don't want to be strange. Okay, cool. Just don't act like other people being harmlessly different is a bad thing.
Again, this is a post about treating queer people talking about how queer we are like we're the same as bigots trying to hurt people who're different from them. If you don't do that, we're good!
Me, personally? I'm not gay as in happy, I'm queer as in fuck "normal".
I just realized the reason so many people will call someone “an abuser” when the facts of the matter indicate instead that the person is actually simply “an asshole” is because you can’t just create engaging social media guilt by association drama by demanding people unfollow x or y if they’re simply an asshole, but if you re-reframe banal assholishness as genuine psychological abuse it means you can also start shit with anybody who associates with the asshole in question. That might also explain why people say “this person is a gaslighter” when they instead mean “this person says lies”.
The notes of this post include somebody who has listed their age as Fifty saying that me writing this post is literally Abuser Behavior itself, and that it’s Victim Blaming to point out that not all forms off assholism are of comparable magnitude to systematic psychological/physical abuse, and also somebody asking something akin to “oh so if being an asshole is not Abuse are you saying it’s Okay to be an Asshole???” and I gotta say man, how do you even live when you interpret everything people say in such bad faith.
The holy grail of searching through academic literature is coming across a string of publications that are like:
Here’s An Idea. Smith et al. 2016
Terrible Idea; a comment on Smith et al. 2016. Johnson 2016.
You’re Wrong Too; a response to Johnson 2016. Nelson 2016.
Guys Just Stop Fighting, None Of Us Know What’s Going On; a Review of the Current Literature. McBrien 2017.
Not even an exaggeration.
“If We Knew What We Were Doing, It Would Not be Called Research, Would It?”
no joke who wants a date like this?
On this video and in this environment especially, all the “but actually stealing is bad” people need to shut the fuck up
Those people on the streets are being left to die right now. The people in this video are getting them masks, hand sanitizer, food, and more - the stuff they need to have a better chance to get through this
For fuck’s sake, if you’re going to use law and order to condemn people who are literally saving lives, you are a monster. Would you not do anything to save a life? Or is it just that you don’t see the lives of unhoused people as worth protecting?
They are stealing work hours from people and causing more people to be poor cause if this shit. That is what happens so fuck your idiot self. This isn’t Robin Hooding.
1. That isn’t true
2. You. are. evil. If you’re willing to let people die on the streets during a pandemic in order to get retail workers decent hours, you are a fucking monster and I have no qualms telling you that. Why do the retail employee’s wages matter to you more than the unhoused people’s lives? How many hours would management have to give to their employees for you to agree to put a gun against someone’s head and shoot? If you’re really dedicated enough to the law to leave innocent people to die then you’re fucking soulless and I refuse to try to reason with you
This entirely. I’ve worked retail, they never held us accountable for losses due to theft, and honestly how could they? Shoplift, help your neighbors, the whole system is set up to hurt all of us anyway so fight it!!
Literally when I was closing for w*l-m*rt electronic section I had, IN ONE NIGHT, 6 PS4 controllers ($60 each), 3 arcade machines ($120 each), and 3 home speaker systems ($500 each) stolen while I was stocking and helping other customers and I never, EVER, was held accountable for that despite being the ONLY person in the department that night. That’s aprox. $2220 stolen in ONE NIGHT, and it affected me in absolutly no way.
Stealing things that you dont need? Wrong.
Stealing from small, local shops? Not only Wrong, but massively a dick move, as this IS the situation where stealing affects employees directly.
Stealing from big-name franchise stores to help yourself or others, ESPECIALLY in times of need? Punk as fuck and totally right, dont let anybody tell you otherwise. They wont notice the shit missing, and even if they do? It wont be significant enough to even *begin* to make a difference to them.
How did you say “a bunch of entertainment luxuries were stolen on my shift and there were no repercussions to me or any other workers, only losses to the company and regular people getting free luxuries” and then follow that up with “but don’t steal things you don’t need like luxuries though, because that’s wrong for no particular reason”
I really really don’t get this Protestant ethic type of response from people who do support shoplifting, where something becomes immoral simply because it’s frivolous or unnecessary. I see it all the time. Like, yeah, shoplifting is a victimless crime, but only do it if you’re poor for some reason? If you steal something simply for enjoyment that’s sinful, only people with disposable income should have PS4′s because poor people don’t deserve anything other than bare minimum paycheck-to-paycheck misery
Fuck that noise. Steal cute clothes. Pirate video games. Sneak into movies. Yes, it is bread we lift for - but we lift for roses, too
The economic machinations that turn goods into commodities and put them on store shelves instead of into the hands of people are unjust, and by extension any means of subverting that is just.
I do not care who you are, what you have, or what store you’re at, stealing is good, always, with no caveats. Take everything your gay little hands can carry.
And to help with that, because Mother Anarchy loves her children, I’m going to give you all some tips on safe and easy ways to shoplift
Be confident. The number one thing that will give you away is being visibly nervous and avoiding workers. Take things slow, be friendly to any workers that you run into, and act like youre in control. Having friends with you can help with this, and is useful for other things, too. I’ve walked out of stores holding unscanned merchandise right in front of an employee and I smiled, waved, and bid them have a nice day as I did so.
Present yourself as unsuspicious. This is related to the last point, but again, the most important thing is not drawing unwanted attention. Wearing a baggy hoodie and pants can set off red flags. My preferred thieves’ garb is shorts and a t-shirt, and an open cardigan. Something that looks casual but still has pockets is useful, assuming you want to go the route of stuffing pockets.
Bring your own bags. One of the easiest ways to steal is filling up your own bags while going through the store, going to self-checkout, and only scanning a small portion of what you brought. Grocery bags look less suspicious than a backpack. The safest way to steal is paying for part of the haul, and then walking out with the rest. You can either have the bags on your person or in a cart, just don’t put them in a weighing area with stuff still in them.
Don’t panic. Self-checkout will beep and say things are wrong even when you’re not stealing, just look like you don’t know what’s happening and that you’re doing nothing wrong. React how you’d react if you weren’t lifting. Worst-case scenario, if a worker accuses you of something, act confused and blame it on forgetfulness, then pay for the item. I’ve been doing it for years and never had a worker mention things once, you’ll most likely be fine.
Be wary of Target. I’ve heard lots of rumours about Target’s security that may or may not be true, but it’s probably best to avoid them just to be safe
Have fun, stay safe, and make the capitalists pay
because all of that matters to the police officer/security manager/judge/future employer when you can’t pass a CORI because you thought stealing $400 of makeup and clothes from Walmart is “punk”
My brain has been like-
Remember how you were so anxious as a kid that you had a whole ass eating disorder that you didn’t realise was an eating disorder until you were an adult
have you considered dabbling in that again
