Kneeling
This has recently been introduced to me, by a very good friend. When I was having a particularly bad day last week, I was instructed to kneel, with my palms facing upwards, my hands resting on my thighs, eyes closed and head tilted up slightly. I was instructed to focus on my breathing and nothing else, and to imagine him there with me.
I have discovered a love within kneeling. Kneeling, for me, is a form of mindfulness, a form of meditation. It helps to calm me, to centre me, to quiet my busy mind. I find it very soothing, especially in times of need. Just 5 minutes of kneeling, helps me to clear my mind. Focusing on me, and focusing on him. Imagining him there, speaking to me, hearing his voice, soothing me.
Unfortunately I can’t always kneel, and at the moment I am struggling, for some reason my left foot ends up pulsing quite bad and my thighs are very sore. So my kneeling position switches from kneeling to sitting cross legged. Same rules apply, however.
Today I have spent 5 minutes kneeling on two separate occasions. I needed it. It’s a positive coping mechanism for me, and I love it. Being able to find something, that not only helps to lessen the noise in my head, but leaves me feeling calmer, happier. Well, that makes my life that little bit easier to manage.

The Election
I know it has been almost four years, but sometimes I wish I could go back to page 28 to choose a different path to get a happier ending.
LOL!

Is this how we are going to make America great again?
Caravaggio living paintings by Ludovica Rambelli Theater
This never ceases to amaze me, no matter how many times I’ve seen it.
Awesome
Stupid human tricks.
Think about it.
Just had my nth conversation with someone about mask-wearing today - yet another well-intentioned moron who was like
‘But the virus is gone now’ (it isn’t)
‘But the mask is uncomfortable’ (ventilators are worse)
‘But you’re young, you won’t die’ (having this thing could impact my health for decades to come + it’s my responsability to protect those who’re more vulnerable than I am because that’s how society works)
‘But are you going to live in fear for the rest of your life’ (taking concrete safety measures actually helps me feel more in control and less worried)
‘But are you going to give up everything and stay inside like a rat’ (no, but I’m definitely going to decide what’s worth risking my health for, and shopping for bread rolls is not very high on my list of literally-to-die-for activities)
‘But what if they never find a vaccine’ (then we’ll get used to the situation just like we got used to a thousand other things like seat belts, bike helmets, and increasingly weird true crime podcasts).
I know it’s tiring to have people call you paranoid all the time - but you’re right and they’re wrong. Check the news, keep a safe distance from others whenever possible and keep wearing your mask!
(Btw that thread is full of interesting stuff.)

Powerful.
Banksy’s mural of a child refugee outfitted in a lifejacket and holding a neon pink flare is now partially submerged in Venice’s floodwater over the past months. The city's water levels have been a concern as climate change has brought rising sea levels and tides to new heights. The Banksy mural is a wonderful illustration to demonstrate the upcoming crisis. Citizens of Venice might all need lifejackets soon.
