For people born and raised and living in the USA,
Aren't we lucky to be born in a country where no matter how shit goes down, we still have a community and a government that will ensure that we don't start a genocide?
Aren't we lucky we weren't sent papers, gathered up on cattle trains, and sent to hard labor/death camps?
Aren't we lucky we are given opportunity and freedom, when decades ago or even now in the present in others countries, some people don't have that freedom or opportunity.
Aren't we lucky we can speak loudly without fear that the government is listening and will kill us and our families on spot for speaking our opinions?
We are lucky to live in the US, we truly are. Sure, there are flaws and mishaps and still is aggression and violence, but there are still people who form communities and still are people who stand up for what is right to make a difference that is bound to happen. Other people in others countries don't have that.
We take for granted the country we live in. We don't have to be overly patriotic, but we have to come to a realization that we are lucky to live in a country where we keep fighting to make it home of the free. Shit is bound to happen, violence and aggression is still gonna happen, but we have the right to fight to end it when others don't.
Don't take for granted of what you have, cherish these moments. We didn't have it worst. We don't have it worst.
The Holocaust, the USSR, North Korea, the Rwandan Genocide, The Ukrainian Genocide/Great Famine, the Russo-Ukrainian War, the Rape of Nankingโ and so many more worst things have happened. And we fight to make sure those things don't come to our country, and if it's a threat, we fight to ensure we keep it off our borders.
Stop complaining, educate yourself, and be grateful. We have it better than others, and that's a sad reality to face.

It's an app where, at least in the United States, you can listen to as many professionally recorded audio books as you'd like for FREE, so long as you have a library card. You don't even need to visit the library, you can just borrow the audiobooks from your phone.
