He was already pushed to the very edges of his patience, to the point where he was just about to snap and fall over the edge in the dark abyss of mindless violence, and the doubting of his name definitely didn’t help in the slightest. If the mech expected cooperation after this, he was expecting far too much, and with rapidly paling optics Sunstreaker’s arms fell to his sides from where they had been nicely held behind his helm, that which tipped until the sickly near white of his optics glowed from the shadow cast by the rim of his helm. Denta was bared in a steady, low growl promising pain and death, and the berserk warrior was just about done with this, this utter disrespec, being treated like a mental defect. By the alternate of his brother, no less, a fact which earned a sneer aimed at the other mech. “So that was why you seemed so familiar, and explains your imbecile nature and utter idiocity.” Oh no, Sunstreaker was not on a good mood, and this Sideswipe had hardly made a good first impression. “Or are you even Sideswipe? You don’t even look like him. Red with accents of black and white, that is what you should be, not this… Hmh, if you really are Sideswipe, tell, how in the pits does your twin let you walk around looking like this?” His voice wavered between a menacing rumble and throaty growl, the rough, grating vocals vibrating deep from his chassis. He was done and through with this meeting already, and simply twisting the neck of his antagonizer and ending the poor glitch’s misery started to look increasingly tempting course of action. Why was he even bothering to keep the slagger alive?

The designation provided the answer. Sideswipe. Sunstreaker, for all he had attacked, maimed and killed his own alternates before, needed to be pushed quite far before he was ready to lay a servo on a Sideswipe with the intention to kill. That had happened, a Sideswipe had ended up dead because of it, and this alternate also was traveling a very, very dangerous line.

Sideswipe stayed silent throughout the yellow 'cons rant, only theslight narrowing of his optics giving away his inner thoughts.

"...My brother died over two million stellar cycles ago." His tone was flat, not betraying just how furious he was at Sunstreaker. "An' you know what? Frag you." 

"THIS IS THE CYBERTRON POLICE DEFENSE COMMAND. DECEPTICON- YOU HAVE ONE CHANCE TO SURRENDER BEFORE FORCE IS DEEMED NECESSARY. COMPLY."

Oh look- seems like back-ups finally made their conveniently timed appearance. A fairly large group of Autotroopers were starting to swarm into the street, and other less disposable (not that anyone ever told that to the Autotroopers) 'bots were sure to follow not far behind. If Sunstreakers got an escape plan, now might be the time to put it into action- assuming, of course, he wasn't in the mood to fight his way through Iacon's police force.

Why. Why are there so many 'bots going around calling themselves "Sunstreaker" and "Sideswipe"?

"Not bein’ from around- how do you not-?!” Sideswipe was momentarily taken aback by the sheer stupidity of the comment. How fried did a mech’s circuits have to be before he forgot the ENTIRE GREAT WAR?

 ”Look- assuming you can still remember your own designation despite whatever your malfunction is, I’m gonna need it.” Despite how unconcerned his tone is, it’s starting to bother Sideswipe that back-up hasn’t arrived yet. While he’s fairly confident in his own abilities, he’d rather not risk fighting an unknown opponent in the middle of the street- some idiot civilian might go wandering in .

Of all the things that could’ve happened, he had not only found himself from a very Decepticon hostile world, but also one in which at least this one singular mech was not aware of the multiverse. And Sunstreaker was never a fan of educating mechs of it, that he left to Sideswipe whenever he could as one to never have the patience for any amounts of disbelief that might come. Some took it well, others not so, but apparently he had to at least test what it was going to be with this one. And so, with a truly withering glare that highly questioned the other mech’s mental capabilities, Sunstreaker simply stated “Multiverse,” and left it at that.

The warrior growled at the hinting that there was anything wrong with his processors, his mood darkening all the further. “There is absolutely nothing wrong with my processors,” which was a partial lie, but this one needn’t know that. But there was nothing wrong in his memory banks beyond the few corrupted files you were bound to come up with after as many blows to the helm as he had taken in his line of work. “But if you must know, it’s Sunstreaker,” the golden gladiator hissed, less than happy with having to give his designation to anyone who demanded it in such way.

Sunstreaker. His name is Sunstreaker. What kind of fraggin'- what the pit was going on lately?! He was slagged off- oh, was he slagged off- but the anger was less biting then it might have been before. The sheer amount of fragging copy-cats that had been popping out of the metalwork lately had muted his reaction somewhat. 

Of course, the yellow mechs mention of the 'multiverse' (however much his expression made him want to shoot him) opened up...possibilities. Insane, he'd be crazy to consider them possibilities- but still. Something that he'd let simmer in the back of his processor. And even if he did allow himself to (potentially) believe it, the thought of a version of his brother living stung to much to dwell on- so excuse him if he acts a bit...skeptical of the claim. Skeptical being a kinder way to put it. 

"Sunstreaker. Right. Assuming that's your actual name- and with the big aft pile of "Sunstreaker's" that've been showin' up lately I'm not exactly gonna take your word for it- guess It's only fair I tell you mine. Not that you probably don't already know it." The glare he's directing at the yellow mech intensifies. "The designation's Sideswipe."

Ouch. He didn’t need that reminder, that Ultra Magnus had deactivated. He still liked to think he was held up in the office or still tucked away in a private hospital room.

Sidswipe kept his weapon trained at the golden Decepticon, not allowing himself to relax even after he complied with the order. He wouldn’t relax until back-up arrived- and that wouldn’t be for a while yet. 

"So- this a prank, or are ya the one ‘Con stupid enough to walk around Cybertron with your badge showin’?"

The mech’s words gave a reason to believe that the situation would’ve not been any better in Kaon, much to Sunstreaker’s displeasure, that the Decepticons had indeed been wiped from the face of Cybertron one way or another. He wasn’t even sure he wanted to know how it had happened, what the Decepticons had even been like in here in the first place to allow it to happen. His Megatron had been killed, completely, and even that hadn’t been enough to end the Decepticons or the war despite Starscream’s disappearance and the Autobots’ hunt for their stray enemies. Megatron had been revived, the Decepticona had not lost. Nor would they, if Sunstreaker had anything to say about it, and in a way he had, like any of his faction mates. The more Autobots you killed, the less Autobots there were, the closer they were to winning the war.

But to suggest wearing the sigil was a prank… Well, he wouldn’t put it beyond Sideswipe to have pulled such on the ‘Bots, the idiot the red mech could be at times. He knew, though, that his twin would never pretend to be a ‘Bot, not even for the purpose of a supposedly harmless joke, and Sunstreaker, he wasn’t the kind to play with these things, though there was the chance Sideswipe would’ve pulled him in it whether he wanted or not. But no, this was not a prank, if tge way the insignia was engraved to his chestplates wasn’t giveaway enough, leading to a bit offended and very snarly Sunstreaker. “Well excuse me for not being from around here. I would’ve not come to visit if I knew what the situation was,” he growled with an unhappy, openly hostile glower.

This was why he hated Iacon. Though with this world as unfamiliar as it was, he couldn’t say if perhaps the situation would’ve been no less better in Kaon, but a mech could hope and dream, even if his little wish that this was a pre-war universe hadn’t cone true. For this world most definitely either was in a war, most likely in the very early stages of it, or recovering from it, nothing else would explain the reaction he got. And it was not hard to time it with the moment the other mech caught sight of his faction insignia.

Nevertheless, Sunstreaker was less than happy to suddenly have a ranged weapon pointed at him, especially one he was so unfamiliar with. He was a melee warrior, and there wasn’t a melee weapon he couldn’t work against with all the experience of a Pit fighter. He was a frontliner, blasters and cannons were nothing new to him, those he could react to. But bows? They were weapons only the higher castes had ever used, and for sport alone, they had had no place in the war and were almost extinct for all mechs but the likes of Mirage. Clearly, this universe was nothing like what he was used to, putting him in a situation where he truly did not know what to expect, and that unnerved him, set him to an edge. And Sunstreaker on the edge was a Sunstreaker on the edge of violence, which was not good for anyone.

But he knew when it was smarter to do as he was told, and that was why the tall warrior - glaring fire and brimstone as he was - reluctantly uncrossed his arms and placed his servos behind his helm, a low, warning growl rising from his engine for all he remained wordless.

Walking down the streets of Iacon, Sideswipe froze in his tracks when he spotted the golden mech. It normally took a lot to phase him- but the familiar finials and even the basic shape of the armour- 

"…Sun-" Sideswipe stopped himself before he finished the sentence, internally cursing himself. Sunstreaker was dead, and flipping out over strangers that shared a resemblance wasn’t going to bring him back. Frag- he thought he’d gotten over this scrap ages ago, and now here he was again acting like protoform-

During all of this, he might have been staring at Sunstreaker with big, bugged out optics.

Cybertron was a place of both good memories and bad, haunting ones, and it always seemed rhw negative ones were more prominent, taking over his processors whenever he visited his home planet, no matter the ‘verse. That was why he preferred not to, even when the opportunity presented itself.

But sometimes, like today, he took a wrong turn somewhere along the multiverse and ended in a place he was most definitely not planning to go to. Cybertron of an universe he wasn’t too sure he had ever visited before was one such place, had he even ended up in Iacon of all the cities in Cybertron. Generally known as the Autobot capital, he wasn’t too comfortable here with the purple insignia he had come to wear, though he wasn’t quite sure at what stage things were here, pre-war, sometime during it, or post-war. Pre-war was what he hoped for, a world where no one knew the meaning the sigil he was sporting, or post-war in which the Decepticons had been victorious, but he wasn’t sure yet. Sunstreaker was no coward and he was proud of his faction, but he did have sense in his helm, he did know when it was not a good thing to be a Decepticon.

So far, there hadn’t been hostility, and no one had paid too much attention to him. As far as attention went, that changed when he heard the beginnings of his designation. Aborted as the sentence was, Sunstreaker still halted and turned to see if someone had been about to address him or was there someone of a similar designation walking the street. In the multiverse, neither would’ve surprised him too much, considering all the quite strange things that had happened to him there. Even then, he hadn’t been expecting the open staring from a mech he most definitely did not recognize despite the nagging at the back of his helm that he should. Not appreciating such ogling, the artist’s expression fell into a scowl. “What?!” he snapped at the mech, turning fully to face him and crossing his arms over his broad chassis, hydraulics hissing under the weight of his strong frame.

Sideswipe started a bit when the mech started to turn around- oh, scrap. What was he supposed to say- sorry for disturbing you, Sir, I mistook you for my dead bro-

It was at that point that the golden mechs Decepticon Insignia registered. As unnerving as it looked on a frame so similar to Sunstreaker's, the enforcers' training quickly took over. 

"I don't know if your just some punk kid playin' a prank, or if you're the real fraggin' deal- but I want your hands behind your helm, now." Unsheathing his energon bow, Sideswipe powered up a bolt and aimed it at Sunstreaker, simultaneously sending out pings requesting back-up.  The small crowd of civilians that had been milling around the streets fled with a blessedly minimal amount of panicking, leaving the two mechs alone on the street- if only temporarily.
