This is Red Flag by Billy Talent. This 2006 rock song addresses a truth we all know: The children of the next generation live in the world shaped by the generation before them.

“You tell me youth's fucked up, the kids are too, people only grow up when they've got nothing better to do.”
This is Back to Life by Paradise Fears. This song is soft, relatively upbeat and talks about ‘growing up’. I challenge you to, in the next week, schedule yourself just a little bit of time to do something that makes you feel ‘young’ again. Doesn’t matter if its making yourself a sundae while watching cartoons or playing with the dog and getting all muddy. Do something fun, something in the spirit of this song. And, if you’ve got the time, let us know what you ended up doing.

“Tonight I feel like bein’ loner. Call me a loser. But my nights not over.”
This song is for all of you who are sick of being told you’ve got to be drunk to have fun. For all those that feel like being a loner, and doing things you actually enjoy on your own. Take Loner by Ghost Town, turn up the volume and enjoy your night.

Allow me to explain myself on this one.
The year is 2015, the month December. The holidays are approaching and its WTF Friday here on thisblogkillsdubstep. I, not knowing what to put down frantically google weird rock songs. Then I find this one. Did you know the jerk who decided to raise the price of AIDs was arrested by the FBI for fraud? He got on this santa’s naughty list.
This is Santa Claus has got the AIDs by Tiny Tim. And yes, this song is old(1994). Its almost as old as I am.
Happy Friday

When you hear a new song on the radio and you’re desperately trying to pick a notable phrase so you can google it later
Psh.. I totally didn’t forget to post tonight because I was crying and looking over my notes for my final final...
This is Me, Myself & Hyde by Ice Nine Kills. As one can guess, this is a darker song that combines sung, spoken and screamed lines to really nail the mood of the lyrics themselves. Please enjoy their official lyric video.

Sure, Halloween was like two months ago, but if Hollywood can get away with putting out a horror film (*cough*Krampus*cough*) during the holiday season I can show you a creepy music video in December. This video may start out with the a bit of This is Gospel but it quickly spins into something entirely different.
I present to you Emperor’s New Clothes by Panic! at the Disco. This is a single off their upcoming album Death of a Bachelor available January 15, 2016

Do you have a self-care routine? 💞 BuzzFeed Video shares some of their #SelfCare routines. What are your favorites? 💞 http://ow.ly/VIKbn #SeasonofSelfCare
Just going to toss this out there for any of you who are struggling through things this holiday season. Whether it be the day to day day battle, finals weighing you down, the winter weather blues or family stress, don’t forget to take a moment to take care of yourself. Schedule self-care into your life and don’t budge on it. TheTrevorProject is a great resource.

ALICE ROOSEVELT WAS HARDCORE. “She was known as a rule-breaker in an era when women were under great pressure to conform. The American public noticed many of her exploits. She smoked cigarettes in public, swore at officials, rode in cars with men, stayed out late partying, kept a pet snake named Emily Spinach (Emily as in her spinster aunt and Spinach for its green color) in the White House, and was seen placing bets with a bookie.
So what I’m reading here is, she was a Roosevelt?
Well I have a new hero.
Her whole wikipedia article is gold
“When her father was governor of New York, he and his wife proposed that Alice attend a conservative school for girls in New York City. Pulling out all the stops, Alice wrote, ‘If you send me I will humiliate you. I will do something that will shame you. I tell you I will.’”
“Her father took office in 1901 following the assassination of President William McKinley, Jr. in Buffalo (an event that she greeted with “sheer rapture.”)“
“During the cruise to Japan, Alice jumped into the ship’s pool fully clothed, and coaxed a congressman to join her in the water. (Years later Bobby Kennedy would chide her about the incident, saying it was outrageous for the time, to which the by-then-octogenarian Alice replied that it would only have been outrageous had she removed her clothes.”
“She was dressed in a blue wedding dress and dramatically cut the wedding cake with a sword (borrowed from a military aide attending the reception)”
“When it came time for the Roosevelt family to move out of the White House, Alice buried a Voodoo doll of the new First Lady, Nellie Taft, in the front yard.”
“Later, the Taft White House banned her from her former residence—the first but not the last administration to do so. During Woodrow Wilson’s administration (from which she was banned in 1916 for a bawdy joke at Wilson’s expense)…”
“As an example of her attitudes on race, in 1965 her African-American chauffeur and one of her best friends, Turner, was driving Alice to an appointment. During the trip, he pulled out in front of a taxi, and the driver got out and demanded to know of him, “What do you think you’re doing, you black bastard?” Turner took the insult calmly, but Alice did not and told the taxi driver, “He’s taking me to my destination, you white son of a bitch!”
“To Senator Joseph McCarthy, who had jokingly remarked at a party “Here’s my blind date. I am going to call you Alice”, she sarcastically said “Senator McCarthy, you are not going to call me Alice. The trashman and the policeman on my block call me Alice, but you may not.”
I love this woman.
WOMEN WHO NEED FUCKEN MOVIES.
This is Alice as an older lady. The pillow says “If you can’t say something good about someone, sit right here by me.”
She is my absolute favorite.
BaЯack Obama?
He stated that he was not the lead singer of Korn.
So someone on the internet decided to make him the lead singer of Korn - if just for a short clip. I’m aware that this isn’t new news, but today is WTF FRIDAY, and this falls into this category. Plus its both amusing and impressive. Please enjoy this rendition of Freak on the Leash.

Throwback Thursday!
Year: 2002
Artist: Avril Lavigne

Psst. Guys.
THIS IS NOT A TEST.
Good Charlotte are back together. If you’re not old enough to remember their ‘good ole days’, you ought to go back and listen to them, just so you can get excited about them making music again. They do have a bit different of a sound, but thats to be expected after extended time off.
This is Makeshift Love by Good Charlotte. This single came out Nov 5, 2015 and is available on iTunes

Warning: Puns incoming
Now that we’ve reached the dog days of finals I’ve taken on some needless challenges to distract me from the chasing your own tail feeling of studying. This video is full of the cute pups of Waterparks and a cast full of very well trained dogs. Their song Crave will toss you a bone and leaving craving more, which you can find on the Equal Vision Records Youtube page or on iTunes.

MANIC MONDAY:
Today’s Monday and here to help you kick of this week is this ‘caffeine’ fueled song! Bad puns aside: Caffeine is a song off of the RWBY Volume 2 Soundtrack by Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams.
Anyone who said that soundtrack songs couldn’t be good are liars. This one is available on iTunes.

I’ve got anther great band here today! This is Unbreakable by Fireflight.
Fireflight is a Christian Rock Band from Florida, US. As you can tell they have a female lead (Dawn Michele) with strong vocals. This song is off their 2008 album Unbreakable, but they’ve come out with more recent albums such as: For Those Who Wait (2010), Now (2012) and Innova (2015). All of these are available on iTunes and Amazon.

“Mayday, Mayday! This ship is slowly sinking. They think I’m crazy, but they don’t know the feeling.”
Starset is one of my favorite bands because of their amazing ability to write songs that you really feel. Touching lyrics, great transitions and all around wonderful art. This is one transmission you don’t want to ignore.
My Demons by Starset. Album ‘Transmissions’ available on iTunes.

So I had a really hard time deciding on the video I wanted to kick off both the Revival of thisblogkillsdubstep and WTF Fridays. This is the end result of my Sugar and Procrastination fueled inter-web search.
Come come kitty kitty, Please enjoy Jonathan Young taking on Hello Kitty by Avril Lavigne. As silly as the original song was, it got stuck in my head. This version however made me smile significantly more. You can pick up this cover on iTunes if you like it that much.
