Their mission to join Al in Missouri begins at full force, including a pit stop at their favorite restaurant, preventing a fight in a motel, and gnomes—just a normal day for Winchesters & Co.
sneak-peak passage (part 2):
“Long time no see.” Sam jokes to his older brother.
“Awe, did you miss me?” Dean gives Sam a playful shove as the group follows the brick walkway toward the door.
Sam staggers with his gangly legs, hardly missing out on bumping into a bundle of planted black-eyed Susan. Under his breath, he mumbles curse words as he regains his balance. Suddenly, a hand reaches out to steady his left arm belonging to Eileen. Sam’s eyes crinkle under the weight of his smile, signs a quick ‘Thank you’, and leans down to kiss her forehead.
The front door flings open before anyone has the chance to knock.
“Deano, you haven’t changed one bit!” Al pulls Dean in and crushes him into a hug. “Sammy!—” He pulls away from the embrace and grabs the taller man with a similar gesture. “Hello, everyone! Please come on in!”
They walk single-file through a narrow hallway, the walls filled with framed photographs and handmade paintings, leading directly into the kitchen doorway. Two women sit at a touch kitchen table with coffee cups in their hands, their heads turning in sync when the group enters the room.
With a wide grin, Al holds his hand out toward the table. “Winchesters’—meet my ride-or-dies, Augustine D’Angelo—”
A woman with leopard print glasses waves. “Teenie, please—”
The other woman dressed in scrubs smiles. “Kitty—welcome to our humble abode! You all must be exhausted. Can I offer anyone something to eat or drink? We just finished dinner.”
