Sleepdebt will release his second EP Self Distraction, on November 30th on This City Is Ours Records.

Comprising five tracks of cinematic electronic music, the project juxtaposes gritty analog synthesizers and organic instrumentation against an omnivorous sampling sensibility that encompasses everything from delirious saxophones to cheerleading routines and video game sound effects.

This City Is Ours Records are proud to present the cassette release of Fukushima Surfer Boys, the third album from Manchester prog-rock band Trojan Horse, and an exclusive release for International Cassette Store Day 2017.

The band returns from exploring the sonic wilderness with this latest opus - 16 tracks of stream of consciousness songwriting, hammered into shape and refined by long-time producer and collaborator Danny the Red, with guest features from Jimi Goodwin (Doves), Kavus Torabi (Knifeworld/Gong/Guapo/Cardiacs) Pete Trewavas (Marillion) as well as the recorded debut of new drummer Joe Wood.

Taking heavy inspiration from Flying Lotus, Thundercat, The Wickerman, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and the obscure Russian signal broadcast UVB-76 amongst others, the latest Trojan Horse release is a radical departure from their previous works, and sees the band wholeheartedly embracing a more electronic approach to sonics. Fukushima Surfer Boys is a nod to the Trojan Horse of old whilst taking grand strides into the future.

Thematically following on from his debut album Happiness, RADIO is a regressive adventure into childhood imagination, albeit tainted by the realities of adulthood. Both animated and meditative, this conversation with the past takes the form of a 50-minute onslaught of classic hip hop beat-crafting. Frenetic and eclectic cuts ride over fuzzy breaks and boom bap beats, harking back to a school of minimalist, yet deeply effective hip hop production, reimagined from the present day.

The orgonites are made up of picture Jasper, labradorite and fluorite - buried deep within the earth connecting back to source, a mix of assorted metals (tin, copper and steel) create good vibes and beauty in harmony with music and creativity.

The pillows are hand stitched incanted dream/meditation pillows- filled with Mugwort, Lavender and Lemon balm picked from our favourite places, made with love and magic in mind.

226 track album

We’re pleased to announce Manchester With Love. A 226 track compilation of Manchester music raising funds for the Red Cross I Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

Manchester came together in the hours, days and weeks after the attack. Manchester With Love is a collective contribution from the city’s music community, showing the city’s diversity through music, from seminal bands through to the newest up and coming producers.

Speaking of charity tapes, in light of the Manchester Arena attack last month, Manchester With Love put together this charity compilation album. Never have 226 musicians mobilised so quickly.

Alongside the likes of Manchester natives Illum Sphere, The Mouse Outfit, GoGo Penguin, 808 State, and LEVELZ, we’ve got half the This City Is Ours Records family holding it down too - Jecht Rye, Bad Juju, Sleepdebt, Dujat, and From The Kites Of San Quentin all contributed tunes. We’re honoured to be a part of it.

The compilation costs £10 (or however much more you want).

All proceeds go to the Red Cross I Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

111 track album

In an effort to try to do some good in the world, we gathered the fam to put together a mega compilation in order to raise some money to help people in Syria. 100% of proceeds will be donated to help support the White Helmets, people dedicated to saving lives affected by the ongoing war.

Hosted by Inner Ocean Records + O-NEI-RIC Tapes + Saikei Collective, we gathered 111 lofi tracks from 111 different artists. The compilation spans 2 fully loaded tapes with approximately 100 minutes per tape, totalling almost 4 hrs of super chilled beats.

Cheers to the homies at Inner Ocean Records for featuring exclusive tunes from our own Bad Juju and Amorphe on their charity tape Bless Vol. 1.
