But I want to hear “that’s a good idea, you should try it” or even “hmm, everyone might be doing that, but I know you’ll think of something else”. I want someone who motivates me to at least try something. I don’t want someone who’s constantly thinking negatively and just shuts me down.

Maybe I’ll think of something better, but it’s hard to do when my creativity gets shut down.
