My 23rd birthday plans are to get a greasy cheeseburger and then see one of my favorite movies in an actual theater. It should be a great night.

People ask me all the time if I'd like to live in New York permanently someday. Honestly, I don't really care one way or the other.

I'll explain. One of my favorite NYC experiences so far has been sitting in a movie theater. I saw Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie one weekend at this little hip, indie place and was surprised at the fact that I was in a theater full of other Tim and Eric fans. The movie had just come out in theaters and the collected anticipation of all of us could have powered Manhattan for weeks. As soon as the movie started, Jeff Goldblum came on screen and said, "Hi, I'm Chef Goldblum." And everyone started to explode with laughter. It was glorious. Everyone in the theater just got it and we relished that fact. 

What I'm trying to get at is, that all I need out of a future home is a couple places to experience my favorite pop culture. Sure New York is awe-inspiring and vast and full of so many opportunities, but at the end of the day, there are other cities that have these things as well. I just need a nice grocery store, an indie movie theater, a cool concert venue, some great restaurants and a Keurig. Simple pleasures.

Why I never really fit in with other journalism students

Guy: I'm interested in breaking news about world events!

Girl: I knew I wanted to be a journalist because I believe everyone has a story to tell!

Annoying person: I am passionate about social media and other ways in which people get their news!

Guy: I'm dedicated to exposing the truth and uncovering corruption!

Me: Uh, I realized you could make a living writing about movies and stuff, so I thought majoring in journalism was the way to eventually do that.

Final Fantasy VII | Prelude

I've been playing Golden Sun lately on my Game Boy Advance and it has been making me miss Final Fantasy games like none other. One of the best things about modern consoles is that we have the opportunity to play classic games without buying the system itself. You have no idea how much joy it gives me to know that I can play Final Fantasy VII again just by purchasing it on PSN.
