hello I bring you more deltarune,,,
she CRADLED HIS FACEE I'm not okay guyss
my partner said something that kinda rocked my world
what if I uuuuh... kissed your forehead and made you feel safe? What about it, nerd!?
googling shit like "why do i feel bad after hanging out with my friends" and all of the answers are either "you need better friends" (i don't; my friends are wonderful) or "your social battery is drained, you need to rest and regain your energy levels" (i don't; i've got tons of energy, it's just manifesting as over-the-top neurotic mania). why is this even happening. it's like some stupid toll i have to pay as a punishment for enjoying myself too much
I actually, genuinely think social event aftercare would fix me. I need someone to put me to bed and say "you were fun today and no one hated you"
#theres a thing called 'larp drop' thats essentially this#esp since when having a great time you might be more inclined to disregard your limits and ignore discomfort#(and forget to eat/drink if its larp whoops)#and then once you have a moment to yourself it all comes crashing in#source: once forgot to eat at larp and had a sobbing fit in my car that ended the instant i bit into a chicken nugget - @queerfarmgremlin
i hope a ceiling fan falls on the empty spot in the bed next to you and it starts understanding your needs
this post always makes me so emo... here's me next to my ceiling fan that i turned off for the first time in months to draw
stop reblogging this post without the art this is the only version that exists now
This is the exact sort of passive-aggressive Rich Old Man Grumpiness I can get behind
I think it's particularly notable in that this man basically set up a form of complaint that would only ever be seen if he was proven right. Masterful.
New brush goofin with ENA to celebrate the release date announcement...save me Dream BBQ save me.

"Why can't the freaks on AO3 just go and make a site for all the gross stuff and leave AO3 alone."
Because AO3 is that site. Because AO3 was that site long before you decided AO3 was better than the sites you bullied us off of before, and I can promise you if someone somehow comes up with a fanfic site you like better specifically for the 'gross stuff' you'll try to bully us off that too so you can benefit from it.
AO3's specific core purpose is to preserve fanfiction, yes, but it was also instigated as a host site for the fanfiction that kept getting yeeted off other platforms like Wattpad. Its designed to preserve all fanfiction, not just the fanfiction you, personally, think is 'allowed' to be written.
AO3 is the site for all the gross stuff the freaks make. We've been there just as long as you. We've been funding it just as long as you have. AO3 has specifically said you have a place here. The timeline was literally:
Wattpad/FF.net/LiveJournal purge fanfics > AO3 is born > The people who's fics got purged moved over to AO3 > AO3 gains popularity as the best functioning site > The people who pushed for the fics to be purged off Wattpad move to AO3 > The same people try to push for AO3 to purge fics.
AO3's source coding is open-access. You go make a polished, strict, rigid site where nothing 'icky' is allowed. You go make a site where you can control what is hosted. We already have our space.
AO3 was specifically made for the stuff likely to be purged from other sites.
It was built around "we need to own the servers" so we wouldn't have to deal with anyone else's judgment calls about what was acceptable in fanfic: Not corporate sponsors, not evangelical religious groups, not "save the children" activists... and not other fans who think that The Gross Stuff should be banned from public view, only shared via private email after you've sent in a request heavily laden with special keywords.
Some of the founders remembered when slash fanfic was kept under the table at the dealer's room, distributed with brown paper wrappers only to people who knew to ask for it specifically.
And they said: Fuck that. Our art is not a crime and we're not going to be ashamed of it. If you are ashamed to have your art next to it - there's a whole wide internet that's ready to host your G-rated genfic.
AO3 was built for the stuff that was unwelcome elsewhere.
Don't make me tap the sign but this is the sign:
Yeehaw
they sighed and said “you have so much autism” in the most loving tone imaginable
‘Homo sum’ in Latin: ‘I am a human being’
‘Homo sum’ in Polish:
THE SWIMMING PIC HAS ME SOBBING 😭😭
i'm gonna be honest i don't get why they say everypony instead of everybody in mlp. it's not like the word everybody is human-specific. the ponies have bodies. the word everypony, however, is pony-specific in a world where ponies are not the only people in their society, which means it would be more accurate and inclusive to use everybody instead of everypony. it all makes no sense to me
maybe they all hate spike..?
oh my god
oh my god
so here's the thing that makes this funny: I feel like, if you actually watch the show, it becomes very clear that the ponies being crazy racist was not the actual intention? at least for the first seven seasons. there were a few times where the pony racism was intentional (see: the Zecora episode, where the racism was intentional so the protagonists could be smacked with a metaphorical newspaper and learn the lesson "hey. don't be racist," and the Buffalo episode, where the writers were the ones being racist) but for the most part the pony racism is the result of the writers just Not Thinking About The Implications
for example, this clip:
the intent is for this to be a meta joke about the amount of unicorns with stripes in their hair named after celestial objects/events (i.e. Twilight Sparkle, Starlight Glimmer, Sunset Shimmer, ETC). however, the writers Did Not Think About The Implications, so the fact that Ember here gets these two notably different ponies mixed-up, doesn't really apologize for it, and doubles down on her reasoning when it's pointed out is like. Girl
now I say "for the first seven seasons" is because, well. I don't know WHAT exactly happened with season 8 but what it FEELS like happened is that someone in the writer's room went "wait. shit. guys hold on I think we made the ponies racist" and with that realization they started scrambling to come up with ways to fix this issue and one guy went "what if we had Twilight make a school that teaches the ponies to not be racist" and everyone thought that was a great idea, and maybe it could have been, but they botched it so bad they made the pony racism like ten times worse, mostly on account of the fact that they were actually acknowledging the pony racism at this point and handling it really really badly
but yeah for the first seven seasons it was unintentional. and it's really really funny because of that
I love MLP but this is a very bizarre reoccuring problem in the show.
They have at least two episodes about being a member of a "bad species" (dragons and changelings) that ends with them gaining the ponies trust by distancing themselves from their species. In Thorax's case he even got a new "good" form with lighter colors, and so did the other changelings when they turned "good".
There is a colorism problem in the show where evil versions of characters have darker colors, and good versions have lighter colors. There was even a video made about how the Equestria girls spinoff makes all the skin colors lighter compared to their pony counterparts.
