Pink Pony Club, covered by Orville Peck,
accompanied by the Boston Pops Orchestra
For a while, I've been searching for a decent quality audio of Orville Peck's rendition of Chappell Roan's iconic pride anthem. I do love Peck's wistful and, at turns, gently powerful rendering of what I interpret as a song of joy, belonging, and self-determination. This is the sort of music I wish my younger self had on the radio, when I was struggling with trying to grow into my sense of self and also trying to not become a target for the hatred of others. Things sure were difficult for a young queer me living in a rural town of ~500 people... But I have the pleasure of listening to this music now, and that is a certain gift.
I'll stop my ramble here, and I hope you enjoy this poignant song, and if you're already familiar with Roan's original, I hope this new take by Orville Peck proves to be every bit as beautiful.
just heard trixie describe her and katya's relationship. something to the effect of, 'when i met her it was like we both could speak a secret third language that no one else could. that we didn't know we could speak'

choosing to allocate spoons to hanging out and having a good time at the cost of perfectly completing all your work is not a failing it is in fact an act of survival. “too sick to work = too sick to play” is in fact ableist bullshit that you don’t have to buy into. and the fact that leisure time is treated like a privilege is a fucking travesty
