How to grow your hair longer NATURALLY
People always ask me how my hair grows so long. I wanted to take a minute to make a post about it because I can. Lol.
A big portion of hair growth has much to do with genetics. For me, I have always had thick, HUGE, hair. But I come from a family of hair stylists who have over the years taught me some tricks for growth. [P.S. This is my opinion and what has worked for me. My hair is not perfect.] I also do not take any supplements to grow out my hair because I don’t need it. Be aware that most nutrients should come from food intake, not supplements. A biotin pill is meant to act as a SUPPLEMENT - you must also eat healthy in order for hair to grow.
#1: EXFOLIATE YOUR SCALP - this is the best advice I can give. During shampoo time, really try to massage your scalp. This will exfoliate the hair follicles which is pertinent in order for hair growth.
#2: EXFOLIATE THE CROWN OF YOUR HEAD THE MOST - since most hair products build up in this area of the hair, it’s important to exfoliate and massage the follicles. Exfoliation here also prevent greasy and smelly hair [WIN, WIN].
#3: GET HAIRCUTS OFTEN - I’m not sure why this helps exactly but it does! Fired ends are not cute and do not promote healthy growth.
#4: MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS CLEAN - when build-up occurs at the roots, it can reek havoc on your scalp and prevent healthy hair from growing. Just like clogged pores on your face, hair pores can get clogged with hairspray, leave-in products, etc. Which is why it’s crucial to really clean your scalp in the shower.
#5: BRUSH YOUR HAIR IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS - (there is a name for this technique but I can’t remember the term right now...) but basically, you want to brush your hair in various different directions. I do this when the hair is dry or during blow drying. This allows the follicles to move freely and massages the pores to promote growth.
Remember that your hair pores and follicles should be treated with the same respect as you treat your face. (I hope this makes sense.)
I hope this helps anyone who is seeking to grow longer (and fuller hair) :)
