Stop Wasting Your Time:
• Watching Netflix/TV.
• Listening to music with negative messages that provide nothing of value to your life and are detrimental to your mental health.
• Spending your time with people who keep your progress stagnant, and who won't be in your life in the long run.
• Reading gossip/popular culture blogs that keep you preoccupied with the lives of people who are unaware of your existence, while simultaneously have you "debating" stupid subjects with people who aren't amounting to anything in life, which eventually leads to internalizing their toxic mindsets (i.e. ShadeRoom, Hollywood Unlocked, etc.).
• Aimlessly scrolling through social media and getting distracted by the distorted world that others manufacturer for sole validation.
• Feeling sad for things you have no power changing.
Instead, Do:
• Get an audible account and start listening to great books that can improve your life and help you see the world through clearer lenses. Utilize the podcasts available to supplement your pursue for knowledgeable (I will be doing a separate post with my favorite podcasts).
• Network and get involve in events and communities of people who can provide you with inspiration, practical knowledge/work, and who can foster your growth as a person and build solid relationships with.
• Download Headspace, or any other meditation app of your choice, and get used to practicing mindfulness. The benefits to mindfulness are countless and it's through it that you can calm your brain down from the day-to-day chatter and allow you to be more present in the here and now. Meditation is mental hygiene.
• Exercise constantly, keep yourself active and watch how much your mood and overall mental health improves.
• Set goals and intentions every single day with deadlines to finish them. You will feel as though you're at the top of the mountain when you have completed the things you've set goals for.
Vanessa Cheng, of Hong Kong, thought it would be hilarious to dress her 11-month-old French bulldog, Romeo, in a “Chucky” doll costume. And the internet agreed. Via
