I saw this dice tray on Etsy (Link to shop here) and though it looked cool. Good use of a variety of different laser cut materials!
Check out this cute fox pendant made from ash and purple heart.
Check it out :)
IT’S TIME TO GET QUIZZICAL WITH QUIZMO 1000!!
Ok, enough of that. Next week is “Science Week” at my workplace, which means we are having a bunch of young guests with an interest in science visiting our research facility to learn more about nuclear science and how it is done. So as part of science week, I built this Quiz Box as a fun activity for our young visitors. The box contains a Raspberry Pi which runs a python program that displays multiple choice questions themed around nuclear science :) I’ll be posting instructions on how to make your own QUIZMO 1000!!!!!!!! *echoing...* ...sometime in the near future.
Browsing about the web when I came across this kids money box on amazon and I was immediately inspired! This would make such a nice project, ok so maybe I wouldn’t go with a pink dinosaur but the coin shoot is a brilliant idea!
Check out this lamp shade! it’s such a nice design and easy to make. If you don’t fancy making your own vectors to make a lamp shade like this, you can buy ready made dxf files from dxfplans.com.
Instructables user, gabrielfaber sent me these photos of tealight holders made by adapting the instructions I wrote for a 4 piece puzzle.
I love it when people send me photos of stuff they make from my instructables and I especially love it when they put their own twist on it!
The original instructable can be found here
But I think gabrielfaber is the new expert on making these things :p
I made this clock some time ago using the laser cutter in FabLab. I think this might have been the project that first got me into CNC equipment and digital fabrication :D
Gear gear on the wall, who’s the coolest of them all?
These mirrors look awesome and a really simple design for anyone looking to make their own, or you can buy one from Mercana
A pretty sweet mechanism for an extending table. It would be ideal for a coffee table that doubles up as board games table :D
Just uploaded a guide for making this Harry Potter themed necklace, check it out :)
Make this Deathly Hallows Pendant!
Also, it has been entered into a Wizards contest so don’t forget to vote! :D
A drag knife can turn a CNC router into a precision cutter for thin materials like paper, leather, wood vaneer, and vinyl. Some more information can be found at the CNC cookbook
Dice box made from Pine. Thanks to bishopcomputerdesign for the idea and Thingiverse for the 3D model. I changed the design slightly and tried it out with cheap pine to see how it functions but I think I’ll try a few more designs before committing to a more expensive hardwood :)
Oh man, I have to CNC me one of these! Anyone know where I could get hold of some drawings?
Check out this funky desktop injection moulding machine! ideal for small businesses.
A laser cut wall hanging by mistercrunch on Thingiverse.
This has been uploaded to Thingiverse.com which means you can freely download the files needed to make your own!!
Today I made some tiny chickens!! These cute little guys will be key chains and will fit into a wall mounted “chicken coop” keys holder :)
WHO WANTS A TINY CHICKEN?!?!
