#what a cool way to film waves crashing over a boat!!!

Shame on me for not clarifying from the beginning, but this set up was not meant to simulate water. This was to help the SFX team animate the part where the sea goddess, Calypso, turns giant in visual call-back to ancient Greek pottery, and then escapes her human body by exploding into a quarter million crabs.

On Pirates 1-3 if they wanted a big wave to go over the boat, they just straight up dumped giant bucket-tanks of water over the actors (they did this to Kevin McNally and Orlando Bloom in the first movie) or blasted the hull of the ship with water cannons ❤

went to an elementaryschool musical production and they started the show with the director saying: "Now there's some very small viewers here today, so just so you know. There will be a scary character later in the show. This is her," and a girl in a kinda scary ghost outfit did a creepy walk across the stage, the stood up straight and did a cheery wave, "but remember, it's just Nina. She's pretending to be scary."

Aaaand i would very much like for horror movies to have that as a little bonus feature you can chose. Let me start a movie with Guillermo del Toro showing me a scary ghost that might jump at me, but don't worry, thats just Doug!

Hi, I was watching VFX film nerd shit and Stan Winston School dropped four months ago that the 1994 IWTV scene where Lestat's throat is cut and he bleeds out.... that's an animatronic puppet with 14 faces transitioning from youthful to decrepit???? This information was literally just dropped after 30 years. That was a fucking animatronic this whole TIME

Also Corridor Crew is a fun fun super educational channel of VFX artists breaking down VFX and this one has Polar Express, Bullet Train, and IWTV!
