Music Is Life

Sharing and reviewing music! I plan on posting a band on Tuesdays and Fridays. I like a variety of music and plan on having some different sounds.

Miss Fortune

This band is far lesser known than Coheed but, in my opinion, they are an extremely talented group and the songs, musically and lyrically, are very well done and nicely mixed. They only have released one album. The lead singer, Mikey Sawyer, was arrested for a domestic related charge (from what I have heard it wasn't a common domestic case, something about defending his family from a guy that lived with them) but I don't know all the details and I don't want to start any controversy. Just share great music which is something these guys did very well. They were dropped from Sumerian after the charges sadly. 

I remember when I first heard them, they were touring with Hands Like Houses and I was supposed to go so I checked out the bands touring with HLH. This band instantly caught my ear and I shared them with my girlfriend at the time. They quickly became one of our favorite bands and we related their music to our relationship. Now, I am a very passionate person and music is a passion for me. I tie songs, bands, and lyrics to emotions and events in my life. We had a rough break up and since then I haven't listened to them but they had some amazing stuff I wanted to share here. Plus, I am a sucker for cleans and this dudes voice is pretty damn good to me. But my opinion may very well differ from yours.

Coheed and Cambria

I’m going to start off with a well known band who has been around since 1995 and, in my opinion, have at least one song that every person on this planet will enjoy. 

They have put out 7 full length albums. All of the albums are concept albums for a science fiction story written by Claudio himself called The Amory Wars. They have been turned into comic books as well as a full length novel. They are considered progressive rock, alternative rock & progressive metal along with a few others. The lead singer, Claudio Sanchez, has a very distinct voice that makes it incredibly easy to recognize their sound. They are a very creative and original band featuring complex guitar and instrumental work that makes it easy to be pulled into. I'm going to list a few of my personal favorites and a lesser known song made by Claudio for his son, Atlas.

There really are a ton more songs that I'd love to post, but, I am new to Tumblr and trying to figure things out and it looks like I can only post so many links. So, I'll list the other songs I wanted to post.
