Don’t think for a second that Stranger Things having a whole plot point of women being forced to carry babies to term by the government and then unceremoniously killing every single one of them off along with one of their only poc female characters AND the main female character who were both also abused and treated as nothing more than lab experiments by said government isn’t the Duffers making it clear who they side with in this political climate. It was not an accident and they are not this stupid. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt. i don’t think the duffer brothers realise that by never speaking of the painting in s5, they’re eventually going down the benverly route from IT with the cyrano trope. mike has to find out the truth about the painting one day or the other, even if it takes 5 years, 10, or 27. even without trying, they’ve given us a long-form accidental byler endgame, and i think that’s beautiful

This week, I read a fic that was around 20 years old, which had originally been posted on the author's personal website and which she added to AO3 a few years ago. She listed her email address with the fic, so after I finished reading, I sent her an email saying how much I enjoyed the story, how much I appreciated the work and effort she obviously put into it, and thanked her for uploading it to AO3. She responded the next day and thanked me for my message, then said she had a few more stories in the same series that she hadn't gotten around to uploading. I checked this morning--she added a 35,000 word novella and thanked me in the summary.
