Advice for your LDR 1) Enjoy getting to know each other. Fuck the small talk, learn about each other’s pasts, childhoods, fears and dreams 2) BE HONEST. Don’t lie about anything. Lies are too difficult to keep up with. And if you plan on spending your life with this person you’re only lying to yourself. 3) communicate. Tell him/her when your pissed off, don’t tread on egg shells, cry if you need to, Shout and scream. But remember to breathe. You have all the space you need. 4) learn to trust. Don’t lose everything because of distrust. Trust is earned but remember it’s always harder when there’s distance involved. Give them space and have some for yourself. 5) don’t live in a bubble, don’t exclude yourself from going out or from friendships because your partner isn’t there. It makes it harder for you. 6) plan for the future. There’s no point of being together if you’re not planning for the future. If it’s not possible for you to meet yet then talk about what you will do when you meet, who’s going where and what you want to do together. 7) remember there will be good days and bad days. But you can’t hug it out, or kiss and hold them close. You have to be that much stronger than every other couple. But it’s worth it I promise. 8) keep things interesting. Don’t be shy about talking about sex and things you want to do with/to each other. Spice it up!! But only when you feel ready. 9) support each other. Through the hard times and the good times. Remind each other you’re there for everything. Do not throw things in each other’s faces. You’ve accepted your partners past. It’s not a pass for you to throw at them when you fight. 10) love. Love with everything you’ve got.
