Drusilla is never mean to Buffy.
At least, not that I can recall.
She never gets a soul, or has a redemption arc, but she never once tries to kill Buffy, at least not directly, so far as I recall. Certainly never tries to hunt her down for revenge outside a fight.
Buffy literally takes both the men in her life, and she never holds a grudge.
Is it because, on some level, Drusilla recognizes a kinship between them? Both tormented by Angelus. Both eventually fall in love with Spike. Both even have visions (Dru's visions, Slayer dreams).
Hell they even share a birthday.
I've actually toyed with the theory that Buffy IS Dru's soul, reincarnated. Remember vampires are soulless but the soul isn't destroyed or possessed, its gone, at least according to Angel, and what evidence we have seems to bear this out. So Dru's soul is somewhere other than in Dru. And I don't know if there's any canon evidence for reincarnation in the Buffyverse, but there is canon evidence for multiple possible afterlives, so... why not?
I think there's something rather beautiful about the idea, actually. Because it means that Dru's soul got to live again, and to succeed in defeating Angelus instead of being broken by him.
Also it means Spike fell in love with the same woman twice. And adds a whole new layer of subtext to Buffy being suspected of Kendra's murder, because it would literally be the shell of her past life that did it.
But even if not literally the same soul... I do think there's a connection between them, some really uncanny parallels.
