some more wc lore hcs
killing a medicine cat is like,,, one of the worst things a cat can do, period. killing a clans medicine cat, taking away someone who has such a special bond w/ the other cats and w/ starclan - thats just,,,, blasphemy. you can spend your whole life trying to redeem for it, but once a cat kills a medicine cat knowingly and deliberately, they’re almost guaranteed to go to the dark forest. hardly any exceptions.
“bunny” is an affectionate windclan term; windclan cats call each other bunny, they call their friends and families bunnies, it’s apart of their language - a cat whose named bunny- is basically,,, the equivalent to naming ur kid “cutie” or ‘angel” or something
water is just so spiritual to riverclan cats that a lot of them have to lay in small brooks / slow moving pools of water in order to “heal their soul” as it were after big battles / losing a loved one. riverclan cats always recommend soaking in a stream to help heal cats whose emotions have been torn due to a traumatic event; it’s helpful, because riverclan cats genuinely believe in water being this spiritual
speaking of riverclan and their connection to water - it’s gross, but someone from another clan or riverclan [even though this would be VERY rare for a riverclan cat to do this] peeing in the river in front of a riverclan patrol is,,, the hugest slight. it’s honestly one of the most vile things in their mind; thunderclan did this often back when sunningrocks became apart of their territory - many didn’t see the river as being so important, and spraying in it was their way of saying a huge “fuck you” to riverclan
killing a leader is also seen as being blasphemous, although slightly less then a medicine cat - leaders die valiantly in battle all the time, but to murder a leader in cold blood is,,, considered to be vile. exceptions are made, of course [if the leader is bad, if it was an accident, etc.] but its still hard to gain starclans respect from that
a medicine cat who knowingly corrupts their clan / sends false omens in order to ruin their clans reputation are seen as traitors and unworthy; a medicine cat who creates a false prophecy to help a family member gain popularity, or to help wage war against another clan - thats considered one of the most cowardly things, and if this medicine cat was caught their position would be almost immediately revoked if their replacement was ready
dark forest cats often change their names if they find their names aren’t ‘scary’ enough; shredtail wasn’t shredtail when he died and neither was maggottail. like- what mother or leader would name a warrior that??? probably not many. they basically changed their names to be more edgy tbfh
leaders have an extended lifespan; they often live much, much longer than regular clan cats because they’ve been graced with nine lives. this is why mistystar is so old, why blackstar lived for so long - they’ve been given nine lives from starclan and thus their lifespan is extended
