Yes - a bit outta left field... My boyfriend had the Crunchie Wunchie song stuck in his head after we finished Sons of the Forest. So I made this for him. And by request it’s also on Redbubble as stickers and other kinds of swag - just in case anyone else can’t get those dulcet tones out of their head. At least now Kelvin can’t destroy the radio…or so I’ve heard. 👍

The Skvader (Tetrao lepus pseudo-hybridus rarissimus L.) is a Swedish cryptid made up by a man named Håkan Dahlmark in 1874, and later constructed by taxedermist Rudolf Granberg in 1918. It’s a combination of a European Hare and a Wood Grouse. It was formerly displayed at the Biologiska Museet which is listed as Permanently Closed sooo I have no idea where it is…… 🫥

ANYhoo just to explain why it’s more cartoonish - I went into this one planning on using it for 2022’s paper ornament.

My piece for this years Mermay. So much happened that month. The best was getting fully vaccinated just in time for my birthday! 🥳 For those who are unfamiliar with the Amabie (according to Wikipedia) it is a legendary Japanese mermaid or merman with a bird-beak like mouth and three legs or tail-fins, who allegedly emerges from the sea, prophesies either an abundant harvest or an epidemic, and instructed people to make copies of its likeness to defend against illness. I’ve considered coloring this and making it into stickers and acrylic charms. So if you like that idea and have color preferences toss your suggestions my way. I tend to get stuck in indecision limbo with that sort of things. XD

My First Born

A shiny new Kaapamü! (formerly Capamoo) It's been years since I gave him any attention. But being the very first character I ever made (and sorely neglected) it only feels right to freshen up his look while figuring out Procreate.

Sad to find out MLP:FiM has ended. But it’s always nice to see such a long running show get a solid ending instead of just fizzling out. ✨

It also got me to play with a doodle I started a while ago. Her special talent is digital art. So of course.. drawn in pencil. Hurr.

Haven’t been on Tumblr in a while heh. Please forgive my spamming of older art that I’ve made since my last post. I’m making a concerted effort to fill out my supernatural sandbox with a variety of ‘Lore species (same class as Noc’lore). This one is on the small end. Pokemon Go: Swinub Community Day 2019 Hi Tumblr. It’s been a while. I’m still playing with my pencils. :3

This year I've been making an effort to work with pencil more. And if you’ve also been working almost exclusively on the computer, you probably know just how paralyzing starting on the first blank page in a fresh sketchbook can be.

But something I found really helpful is to just close your eyes and aimlessly mark the page. Seriously. Show that pristine blank page who’s boss by scribbling all over its clean white face. It’ll remove so much of the pressure of “what should be on the first page of the new book.” All the ideas you’ve been wanting to mark down will no longer be warring over which is most worthy of going first, because none of them will have that honor! :D What you draw out the scribbled mess will!

This piece was started on Isabela Island in 2008, after reading Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut. It's a fictional story about the last fertile remnants of humanity surviving on a small island and slowly evolving into sea mammals.

Kurt's description of their "sealion-like" features was so fascinating I HAD to draw it right then and there, and ever since then it's remained an unfinished sketch. But a friend of mine liked it and encouraged me to submit it to Art Order's publication, Beneath The Waves, so... here it is!

Finally colored this as a tribute to the dark times. When this screen was the unholy gatekeeper of all that is good and fun. But I’ll never see it again because I finally got around to updating my phone... so... onward to brighter days! 🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!!! 🎏
