This is really beautiful
Don't stop fighting for her. She deserves justice
What makes you think itâs okay to watch Hannibal given its subject matter?
sometimes i watch television shows for entertainment purposes.
Because I condone murder and cannabalism
The judge that signed that warrant was complicit or maybe a warrant was never issued.... either way the indictment of Breonna Taylorâs murderers would expose the deep-seeded structural Racism in Louisvilleâs system.
Many more people than those cops need to go down for Breonna Taylorâs murder.
ICE has been ordered to release children but they're the ones who get to decide if they release their parents as well or if they're just throwing these kids out, so please at the very least sign this petition
PS. this isn't a change.org petition either, so it is worth signing!
And before anyone freaks out about the copsâ privacy being violated or whatever the fuck, the info was accessed via a public database for Chicago PD (here) that you can use to search for any officerâs complaint records. Like literally thatâs its purpose. But imagine keeping your job no matter how many complaints and allegations are filed against you. Must be nice to have that level of job security.
Oh look, itâs campus-police officer Lt. John Pike who pepper-sprayed peaceful protesters at University of California Davis.
And UCD reportedly payed $175,000 for this image to not appear when you search it on google:
Darn shame if this circulatedâŠ

In Artist Adrian Brandonâs Incomplete Portraits, A Year of Life Equals One Minute of Color
When Adrian Brandon starts to color a portrait, he sets a timer. For his rendering of Breonna Taylor, the clock is set to 26 minutesâfor George Floyd, 46 minutes, for Tony McDade, 38, and for Aiyana Stanley Jones, just seven. âWhen the alarm sounds, I am hit with a wave of emotions ranging from anger, to deep sadness, to hopelessness, to feeling lucky that I am still here,â he says.
The Brooklyn-based artist is working on Stolen, a series of partially filled-in depictions of Black people murdered by police. Each portrait remains incomplete as Brandon only colors one minute for each year of the subjectâs life that was cut short. âAside from being able to give the viewer a visual of the various ages affected by police violence, the timer creates a lot of anxiety for me as the artist,â he says, wondering, ââWhen is the timer going off?â âWill I be able to finish this eye?â âDamn, I havenât even gotten to the lips yet.ââ In a note to Colossal, Brandon expanded on the project:
Although this anxiety may seem minor in that the consequences for me are very low, it does really have an effect on me. Anxiety is a feeling that black people are far too familiar with, and to experience that feeling while illustrating these portraits allows each piece to feel like a performance. A lot of Black people are forced to live with this anxiety and accept it as part of our every day. But these feelings build up and are exhausting. I shouldnât have to do a prayer every time I see police pursuing a Black person in the streets. I shouldnât feel anxious when the police are talking to a person of color. I shouldnât feel so damn anxious that I remove my hat and jewelry when the cops pull me over. I shouldnât feel so anxious that I would second guess calling the police if I ever needed to. This series is pulling me in, in ways that art has never done.
Brandon has been sharing deeper insights behind the portraits, in addition to timelapse videos, on Instagram.
Saw this on Facebook, but I have greater reach hear
I fact-checked this and it looks totally legit!
Brittany Lavery is an associate editor at Graydon House (here is a link to the Twitter thread where she answers a lot of questions).
Here are some key takeaways:
They only publish Adult Fiction (no YA, middle-grade, or childrenâs)
Inkyard Press, their sister imprint, is going to be doing a similar open call in August for YA novels across all genres (link to Twitter thread)
No sci-fi, fantasy, horror, or nonfiction
It DOES include queer lit!
Romance/romantic womenâs fiction can be sent to HQN Imprint who are doing a similar open call (link to Twitter thread), but the editors acquire manuscripts for both imprints and will make sure it gets to the right place
They are open to international Black writers + Black writers of any gender
While they will only make an offer for completed manuscripts, they still look at unfinished manuscripts and may request to see more material
According to Melanie Fried, editor at Graydon House, hereâs whatâs hot right now:
Make sure you get your manuscripts in, and tell your Black author friends!!! Iâd love to know who allâs submitting!!!
a black man was found hung in huntington, new york today. police ruled the hanging a suicide before performing an autopsy, and media has been largely silenced. as of june 22 2020, this is the fourth hanging of a black person in a public place in the last week: the seventh in less than a month. all of these deaths have been ruled as suicide.
not all of the victimsâ names have been released: we do know of Dominique Alexander, Robert Fuller, Malcolm Harsch, and Titi Gulley. (x, x)
this should be considered a national crisis. we need to treat it as such.Â

This elder was burned alive because he was accused of being a âWitch Doctor â
He was actually a Traditional herbalist Trying to preserve the Maya Culture. The Governments and School System and churches in much of Latin America push this Narrative that it is Bad to be Indigenous that it was Satanic. This was Taught to the indigenous people so that they can chase the fantasy of being â Latinos or Hispanics â from the Colonizers. Hundreds of years of Mental Manipulation is to blame as well as a corrupt government.
People South of the Border are still being Murdered for there traditional and belief system. THIS IS EVIL!!
So I urge you to donate in support of our relative who was unjustly murdered out of ignorance.
all the âwe are the descendants of the witches they couldnât burnâ girls who claim to be oppressed because they practice wicca or witchcraft:
recognize the hands of white colonizers in his death. remind yourself of why indigenous practices are off limits to non-indigenous people. donate to this elders family.
