The brewery Rothaus was founded from the price abbot Gerbert in the monastery of St Blasien in the years1791/1792. The saga was, people of the upper high forest of Germany drink way too much Schnaps, say ‘liquor’ – and THAT was the reason why he gave the order to have something other to drink: beer. If that truly was the reason, we’ll never know; but the monks needed something else during lent which they were allowed to consume. That was beer, while they were in periods of fasting. With the visits from family during the weekend of 18.-20.09.2020 my sister Anna had the idea to visit the brewery Rothaus, my bother made some callings and we had the time of around 3 hours to check what they do there, in the Brauerei Rothaus. Have fun with the picture. From Monday till Thursday 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 5pm are guiding tours. Please be aware of the Corona Virus situation and short-term adaption.
