They’re more alike than they think. She’s definitely related to him. Up to now they’ve both been in denial; him more so than her. :)

I tried a lot of stuff with this piece, mostly with the lineart. I think it came out pretty nice! The background patterns are stock procreate brushes because…yes. Im guessing they kind of have to be inside Sazerac’s house, but that means June visited him in Hell. They’re obviously talking to someone off-camera and…since I didn’t figure out who they’re talking to, I guess it must be You! The Viewer ™

One big family

I’ve always wanted to draw a group photo of Zrail’s family. Now that I’ve done it, I never want to do it again. There are 15 people in this picture, and as I posted it to twitter I realized that technically I could/should have added one more, but forget that!!!!

The toadstools grew in a perfect ring the width of a child’s hula hoop.

They were upside down and clinging to the ceiling like stalactites.

“I have concerns,” she said.

“So do I,” they said. “If I step under it, does it count as stepping into a fairy circle? I mean, if a plane flies over a fairy circle it doesn’t count as stepping into it, but do the same rules apply if you’re walking under a fairy circle?”

“Right.”

“Actually, what is the area of effect for a fairy circle? Is it like a sphere that has the same circumference of the circle, so if I just duck underneath it I’ll be fine? Or is it a cylinder? How far up does the cylinder go? Or down, in this case.”

“Right.”

“Some of the many mysteries of the fey we may wonder about forever.”

They continued to stare up at the ring of toadstools. Thoughtful seconds ticked by.

“See, my concerns are mostly about how much moisture you have in your room.”

“Sorry?”

“You have mushrooms growing out of your ceiling.”

“Oh.”

She patted their back with sympathetic pity. “I appreciate that you live in a world of whimsy and delight, and I don’t want to squash that because I love you, but I also really don’t want you to die of black mold.”

🌿 What is something true about your OC that they refuse to admit about themselves? Is there any reason to this besides embarassment?

So, since this is something he wouldn't admit about himself, I guess we can't do this in his voice. Laizr isn't really one for talking, so he hasn't even had much opportunity to admit things about himself or deny them. I think the thing he really keeps to himself, and refuses to admit even to himself, is that he's scared. Like...all the time. There is something wrong with him, around him, something he can't control and it terrifies him. He's supposed to be the one in control, the one everyone else can turn to. He's afraid that he's a danger to the people he cares about. I wouldn't say he's necessarily embarrassed about it. It's more that...he's trying to deny it at all and stamp it down and pretend the problem doesn't exist.

🍂 How does your OC think they will die? Does death scare them? Is there any reason for this?

"I can't say I haven't thought about it before. If you had asked when I was younger I would have said something about how demons are immortal so naturally I would never die. I do foresee a meeting with my ancestor in the near future though... I'm not afraid of dying. ..But there are certain people I don't want to leave behind."

🌻 What advice would your OC give to their younger self? What advice does your OC need now?

"Trying to become the strongest person in the world is an impossible feat. It's more important to focus on building the few relationships you actually care about. And just because some things will come to an end; it doesn't mean the experience wasn't worthwhile, and it doesn't mean you shouldn't try again."

Cryptozoology is my favourite kind of fake science stuff. Wish there was also cryptobotany, like mothman but its just a really big fern in the middle of a field with literally nothing else around it , that spawned in the dead of night, might have killed a few people and never shows up in photos, and no one is sure its even real
